Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah, I hope everyone is well, I am also well by the grace of Alhamdulillah. I will now write a few words related to the topic of this contest. As much as I have an idea about the subject, I will try to give the maximum. I hope everyone will like this post and my expression. So let's get started without delay.
Question 1 Write a detailed first aid response for the following scenario:
When I see that hot tea has accidentally hit a child's arm, I will take some methods immediately. First I will tell the child not to panic and try to cool the burnt area of the child, I will pour cold water on that place for 10-12 minutes to cool the burnt area, it will cool the burned place and the pain will feel a little less than before.
After that, keep the burnt area clean so that no dirt or clothes are stuck. We will cover the wound area using gauze to prevent infection. If the body burns more and has unbearable pain, then I will give painkillers. If I see severe burns, I will take them to the medical center or hospital immediately.
Things to avoid:-
- Of course, do not use oil, or any chemical substance in the burn, it can increase the infection.
- Do not burst the blisters of the burnt area.
- Do not use ice cubes or ice packs.
- I will not use alcohol.
Question 2, A worker in a warehouse suffers an electrical burn after touching exposed live wires. The burn site shows entrance and exit points, with damage to the skin and underlying tissues. What are the immediate first aid actions you should take, and what critical steps should you avoid? How does this differ from treating thermal burns
In case of a person who has been burnt by an electric wire, I will adopt some methods:-
To save the person who was shocked by the electric wire, I will first close the main line. If this is not immediately possible, we will isolate the person from contact with electrical wires with a dry wooden or plastic object.
I'll call emergency services.
Do not touch the person while being shocked by an electric wire.
I will check if I am breathing and give CPR if needed.
Keep the burned area clean and cover it with clean gauze to protect it from infection.
If there is bleeding, I will try to stop the bleeding.
Steps to avoid:-
- Do not apply alcohol or any kind of ointment to the affected area.
- If there is a blister, do not burst it.
- Do not pour water on the burnt area.
- Do not allow the patient to eat or drink anything.
Some of the differences between electric shock burn and thermal shock: |
---|
Thermal burns:
- Thermal burns can be seen outside the skin.
- In the case of thermal burns, water is poured on the burnt area, the place has to be cooled.
- In the case of thermal burns, the upper skin is damaged and blisters fall.
- Thermal burns usually damage the skin in most cases.
Electrical burns:-
- In case of electrical burn, the inner part of the skin is damaged.
- In case of electric burn, water does not have to be poured on the skin.
- In the case of electrical burns, the upper skin as well as the internal organs are damaged.
- Electrical burns usually cause neurological problems.
Question 3, A worker in a factory accidentally spills a strong acid on their arm, causing immediate pain, redness, and blistering. A colleague tries to wash it off with water but notices the burn spreading
According to the above question:- |
---|
a) Since it was burnt due to a chemical substance, it was wound due to acid.
- To identify acidic burns, look for reddish spots on the skin, and whether there are blisters and spreading lesions.
b) Something went wrong during the first aid such as:-
Improper washing of the wound was causing the wound to spread.
And the protection of the assistant person, such as the use of mask
c) Proper First Aid Procedure:-
For proper first aid, first of all, wash the acid affected area with water properly and keep pouring water continuously.
Use masks and gloves to avoid contact.
Covering the burned area with gauze to prevent infection.
Use cold water to reduce pain, but avoid using ice cubes.
Question 4, You are a first responder in a rural area. Two people are injured in a house fire:
I will choose Group B for prioritization. |
---|
The significant reasons are as follows:-
His nerves have been damaged from a Group A third-degree burn so he is not feeling pain. Therefore, it is not possible to give first aid to a third-degree burn person, he needs to be taken to the hospital quickly.
On the other hand, a person with a second-degree burn is feeling pain, if he is not given first aid quickly, he may go into shock. And it is reasonable to choose him to prevent his infection.
- Chance of survival:– Group B will be cured with early treatment. And Group A who is likely to recover if taken to the hospital quickly.
First aid for Group B:-
First, pour cold water on the burnt area.
Gauze should be used to prevent infection.
Painkillers should be given to reduce pain.
First aid for Group A:
Wounds should be covered with clean gauze to prevent infection.
Liquid food can not be fed.
You have to be transferred to the hospital immediately.
Moral Reasoning:-
- Since the B person was writhing in pain and his initial treatment is likely to cure him, I chose this thought. And we have transferred this person to the hospital, since he can be treated in the hospital.

A) Types and causes of burns:
- Heat burns:-hot water, fire.
- Electric burns:-Electric shock.
- Burns due to chemical substances: Acid burns.
- Burns by the sun's harmful UV rays.
