Hello great steemians from steem for lifestyle. Proud of being here with you. It's your friend @okokon. Let me thank @hive-183369 for his consistency in keeping this community lifely with weekly contest. This week I am participating in a contest, "Lifestyle Dairy Game" because I have something to tell my steemians here. In this post. Iam going to tell you how my Tuesday in the village was. It was an unforgettable moments with my friends. Stay with me, let me drive you.
As usual, I normally wake up by 6am but on this Tuesday, I woke up a little bit earlier, around 5am because I knew i had a lot of engagements waiting for me.
Immediately after my prayers, I woke up. As my routine is, I went to the kitchen started chores before I took my bath. After my bath, I prepared a little breakfast that would take me throughout afternoon period.

Tuesday was my younger sister's parlour marriage in the village. How would I do with my work as a teacher to attend my sister's marriage? I had planned of getting to work place early, stay a little and then take permission to leave before closing. With this, I left to work immediately after breakfast. I got to school by 7.30am, write my lesson and then taught two classes before I took permission to leave.

I came back home from school by 11.20am, changed up and then, left for my village. It has been a long time, I haven't gone to my native land. I boarded a taxi from Uyo, the capital city of the state to my Local Government Headquarters. I stopped at the bus stop and then picked a motorcycle to my town. Distance from Uyo to my village takes about one hour twenty minutes with the transport fare of N2500 in naira currency. It used to be N700 but the recent subsidy removal from petrol by the government raises the cost of transportation. I peacefully reached my home town by 1.10pm. Everywhere was serene, fresh and green. I was greeted by the natural environment. I was excited to have a fresh atmosphere, untouched by human activities.

The whole afternoon was replete with my sister's parlour marriage. Parlour marriage in my tradition involves the meeting of the families of the bride-to-be and groom-to-be. Immediately around 2pm, thr parlour of my father was filled with people.

The guy that wanted to marry my sister (Mr. Ifiok Daniel), and my sister (Mercy Darby) were asked if they would marry each other. Their response was in affirmative. They were prayed for. After that, food were served to guests.
The event ended by 5pm.
After the event, my friends and I visited my village stream to refresh ourselves. It was an unforgettable experience and I bathed in the stream. Something I did last for almost 25 years ago. The fresh water and the natural environment was something to remember.

My evening activity ended when I returned to Uyo because I couldn't sleep in the village. The reason was that I didn't want to go to work late the following day. I had to respect the permission given me by my boss at work place by reporting early to work the following day.
I returned to Uyo by 7pm. I was exhausted that I couldn't even remember to lock the door. I didn't even know when I dozed off. I found myself in bed around 1am in the night when I woke up to ease myself. It was a nice day to behold. That was how my Tuesday in the village was.
Thank you for perusing my post. Have a great time. Best regards.
Let me invite my friends: @nsisong2022, @eno-obong, and @destinedhanik to participate in this contest.
