Introduction

Over here in Nigeria, may 12, 2024 was a memorable event for the mothers. It was a day we took to celebrate our mothers. We get to buy them gifts and appreciate all they have done in our lives by nurturing us till we become adults. It’s always a blessing having mothers in our lives.

Unfortunately, I know longer have a mum and the next person close to a mum in my life is my big sister. She has been there for us through thick and thin. The way she has showed us so much love is the reason why I have always wanted my first child to be a girl.

This super woman you see here, may 12 isn’t only Mother’s Day for her, it was also the day she was born and her 13th marriage anniversary with her husband. So, it was lots of celebration for her at home. The Sunday started with her and her family going to church to celebrate with her family to receive the Mother’s Day blessing from her pastor.

When they returned, her husband bought some few drinks, foods and snacks for the household to celebrate with and have a good time. Later on, it was couples night out. it was time for the couple to go out and have their own fun to celebrate their wedding anniversary. It has always been like a tradition in their house, free from kids and there troubles. They don’t come till the next day.

We as her siblings, we decided to give her a little surprise ourselves to appreciate her for being there in our lives and always looking out for our wellbeing. But that was done two days after her birthday on the 14th of may. My kid sister was in charge of coordinating everything. Our big sister never saw it coming because she felt the celebration was all over.

We bought some food stuff alongside some few gifts like perfume and a black purse to accompany it. I was glad she appreciated the surprise. She showered us with enough prayers through our WhatsApp group. It was so unfortunate that there was no power supply at home. We would have played enough music to celebrate the day, They later brought light when everyone was sleeping, what a country we live in.
