The Tron Fan Club is a specialized community working on some specific topics. As a moderator of the community, I am regularly sharing several tutorials to help newbies. In this series of tutorials, I am trying to share the basic issues of Steem blockchain.

We need to know the exact meaning of reputation value to understand the contribution of any person in the steemit network. We can see someone with 65 reputation and someone with 75. How big the 75 from 65? How much better or more prestigious one reputation score is than another? There are two theories I have found in the internet in this regard.

One theory says one reputation is 1.3 times more than another. For example, from 61 to 62, reputation is 1.3 times more. I personally do not agree with it.

Another place says it is 10 times more. Since it is the base of the logarithm. So one is 10 times more than the other. For example, 26 is get by multiplied 25 by 10. That means 10,000 times more work to go from 25 to 30. I strongly disagree with this. It seems impossible to me.
Although it is similar to the Richter scale of measuring earthquakes. As you know, the Richter scale is designed in such a way that a magnitude 7 earthquake is 32 times stronger than a magnitude 6 earthquake. We are only listening to 6 and 7. So you can understand, 6 to 8 magnitude earthquake is 32*32 = 1024 times (yes, 1024 times) stronger. We may be thinking that it is only a matter of 6 and 8. In fact, this is the basis of logarithms.

However, those who say that reputation is more than the other, it is important to see the real value rather than the simplified value. Let's look at the actual values.

In the calculation above we see that even after doing the logarithm it is simplified so it doesn't really support the logarithm because then we did some addition and subtraction multiplication to get a simpler value. So it is important to see raw or real reputation that is shown in the chart. If we look at the above list of reputation then the matter will become very clear to us. There the core value for each reputation score is shown along with the range. If we notice that for a reputation of 10 less or more, the reputation is ten times less or more than the original value. For example: the minimum value of 45 is about 10 times higher than the original value of 35. In all such.

From here it is easily clear that reputation is actually not ten times more than one value but 10 times more for 10 simplified value shown beside our account. For example: 60 reputation is ten times more prestigious than 50 reputation, similarly 55 reputation is 10 times less prestigious than 65 reputation. The fact that 1 more means 10 times is not relevant. I hope I was able to understand.
