The Tron Fan Club is a specialized community working on some specific topics. As a moderator of the community, I am regularly sharing several tutorials to help newbies. In this series of tutorials, I am trying to share the basic issues of Steem blockchain.

In Previous two posts, I tried to cover the basics of Voting power in Steem blockchain and some calculations related to it. Now, today I am going to share another issue on this topic. Someone from you may ask me why this system is implemented here in the blockchain. This should have been unlimited so that anyone can cast unlimited vote in this blogging or social media platform. But there is a problem with that and hopefully you will get the answer of this question after going through this post. So, let’s get started.

According to calculation of last post, when your voting power is low then it will be reduced by 2% of that value whenever you cast 100% vote. In the case of voting, the percentage (hundred) is reduced, and the reward comes to a simple proportional amount. This is a simple equation. So. your voting power is going to be regained while you wait. Your voting power can be increased another way. When you power up then it is increased according to the power up amount and current statue of voting power belongs to specific amount of SP (Steem power). For example, a user has 5000 steem power in his wallet ang voting power is 50%. If he powers up 5000 steem right now, his voting power will be 100% instantly. This is a simple linear equation.

Reduction of voting power is a problem. That’s why users spend only about 20% voting power in 24 hours so that they can gain it again in next 24 hours. If it was unlimited then the value of steem would have been very low because those who have time would cast their vote. As a specific amount of steem is mined everyday so the voting power should be restricted. To limit the generation of reward with voting this system is implemented in the blockchain. Let’s see an example of cast vote with less voting power. Suppose your voting power is now 100%. If you cast 100% vote to a post, then let’s say you get 1 USD reward. But if you give 50% percentage then only 50 cents will be generated. If you have 50% voting power and you give even 100% vote to a post, then the reward will be 50 cents. So now you can understand when your voting power is less, then your reward for voting (curation reward) will be less. That’s why users here don’t want to lose their voting power.

CONCLUSION

I am trying to share the details of Steem Blockchain in simple language in a consistent way as a collection so that anyone can easily know the details about this blockchain in one place. Those who newly want to work in the Steem blockchain can easily access to this world of Steem blockchain by studying the basics of steem series from here.

DISCLAIMER

I have already shared similar tutorial in Bengali language in আমার বাংলা ব্লগ community. This post is not shared under Self Plagiarism but shared on this platform for educational purpose to maintain tutorial archive. Basically, Steem tutorial series posts are for the newbies in the Tron Fan Club community those who want to know about Steem Blockchain. Hopefully, they will find Steem basic tutorials sequentially at a single place. You can find here the post already shared in another language.

The weight is reduced because of the lack of Voting Power. If you vote for me as a witness, you can get my little vote.

Great post well written and very educative I'm glad I saw this part 23 and I'll be sure to read the other ones. Thanks

Your easy to understand explanation regarding steemit blockchain on voting power it's really helpful. I love the presentation
