The Tron Fan Club is a specialized community working on some specific topics. As a moderator of the community, I am regularly sharing several tutorials to help newbies. In this series of tutorials, I am trying to share the basic issues of Steem blockchain.

The value we see next to a post is shown in dollars. You can also watch it on Steem or SBD in various Steam based applications. If you click on the payout of such a post, you can see how much curation is (about 50%) and how much is author reward (about 50%) when you do not add a beneficiary. If you add a beneficiary, for example, if you add 10% beneficiary to an account like @tron-fan-club, then 10% will be given to @tron-fan-club from the part of author reward. Any post or comment reward is always paid out after 7 days. That means if you post today then rewards will be distributed after 7 days.

One thing to note here is that the number of rewards we see often fluctuates in dollar value after the votes. It appears to change as the price of Steem changes. However, on the day of payout, you will be given the rewards based on the price of that day's Steem. That is, what is shown next to your post is the approximate dollar amount of your total reward.

Basically, half of the amount of dollars voted on a post is given as an author reward. That is 50% authorship and 50% curation. But you have the following options to choose as a author.

• 50% SBD / 50% SP (Default)
• 100% power up
• Decline Payout
  If you don't change any setting while posting, then you will get a reward like 1st option. If you change the setting to 2nd setting while posting, then you will get 100% or all the author reward as Steem Power (SP). If you change the setting to the 3rd setting while posting, then you are not getting any author rewards because you don't want to take the author reward for this post, and it will go back to the reward pool.

However, in this case, the value of SBD is considered according to its price in the internal market, which is approximately equivalent to one dollar. SBD is developed to be priced around one dollar. The price of SBD in the internal market in determined by witnesses. Normally the price of SBD is very high compared to the price of internal market of 1 US Dollar.

The author reward is divided into two parts. 50% of author reward will be awarded as SBD and the remaining 50% which is given in Steem Power (SP). That means one quarter will be given as SP. But how much SP will you get in return for SBD? This is given at current STEAM and SBD conversion rates. Steem power will be given equivalent to SBD amount in current conversion rate of SBD and Steem. Now, you can understand the internal price of SBD is important because your conversion will not be based on external prices.

Now, in steemit 100% of the author reward is distributed in SP. This is because of low ratio of steem:SBD. I shall discuss it later in another tutorial.

I am trying to share the details of Steem Blockchain in simple language in a consistent way as a collection so that anyone can easily know the details about this blockchain in one place.
