I've already highlighted the GOTY of 2020 which was The Last Of Us: Part 2. But there are some more popular games from 2020 which are still very popular despite not winning any awards in the game of the Year 2020. Let's check which games they are...
Valorant
Valorant, a very popular and active PVP fps shooting game was developed and got released at 2020. This game was developed and published by Riot Games. Valorant is still a very popular fps game and has quite a player base. One might say this is the best fps 5v5 shooting game available at the moment. And the reason this game has such a huge player base is because this game is free to play and is quite light in terms of graphics and visuals. Any mid to low end PC can run this game smoothly. The devs are producing and adding new contents for this game every once in a while. Valorant's fun gameplay, free-to-play model, and accessible nature are drawing in new players every day. With its growing popularity, I'm positive that it'll remain relevant in the gaming world for years to come.
Valorant is free to play and can be downloaded from Riot Games or Epic Games. Unfortunately it's not available one steam yet.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is an action-adventure open world role playing game that got released on mid 2020. This game was in development for over 9 years and it made quite a hype before its initial release. This game takes place in a futuristic fictional world set in 2077. The gameplay and the in-game elements of the game are very futuristic. Cyberpunk 2077 was developed by CD Projekt Red, a renowned studio who are famous for their work on The Witcher series. But unfortunately Cyberpunk was an overhyped game for its time and it couldn't deliver as most people expected. This game took over 9 years in development but was full of bugs and glitches when it came out. Because of such bugs and glitches, the game was severely criticized. But the good thing is that the developers took their time and they've fixed most of the bugs over time. So, one can say that Cyberpunk is quite a fun to play game now and is quite stable also. The devs of the game has released a DLC to the game which got very good response from the fans. And we have to admit that this game has one of the best visuals for a video game. With minimal mods and tricks, the graphics of this game almost looks hyper realistic.
Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 25 million copies so far, and its DLC called Phantom Library has sold over 3 million copies as well. These numbers indicate that despite its initial setbacks, the developers took their time to address issues and improve the game, ultimately leading to its success.
