Epiphytic because they grow on trees in nature although we can grow them in the soil. They are great because they don't have spines and spectacular flowers

Yes, there were always pots full of these on every old lady's front porch. I'm appreciating them more as I get older.

Like most cacti, they need to grow outside or they won't flower although the porch was often a bit too sunny. I'm enjoying the flowers of the modern cultivars, as well as the weirder epiphytes. I'll post more as they flower
