These were inside an old bin I used to store stuff in the garden. The fact that they are in pairs shows that they are geckos but beyond that, I can't know which kind, there are 2 species living around my house
thick toed geckos that are only that are only active at night and hibernate: the one above is at the end of winter and the one below that has been eating well and saving fat in its tail
It could also be these cape dwarf gecko that are active during the day and during winter and summer. This one has no tail probably because I rescued it from one of the cats

I like the predators and pollinators, the pests: nice to look at but not clean up after them. I really like snails but have to seriously reduce the numbers - they are massively destructive to succulents

True, the problem is that there are indigenous species of snails that do no harm that you don't want to exterminate indiscriminately. It's the invasive common garden snails that are the problem
