These are wonderful! I love seeing plants in habitat. It's amazing they can grow on the rock like that

Yes, they grow in full sun all day long and those pictures were taken at the end of autumn so they are very red. They can get quite lush and green if it rains well

They are considered pioneer species, found in very inhospitable areas, have you ever tried growing them?

I once found a broken-off flower stalk and brought it home and rooted it. It grew a little while but then died. I should try again

Just as soon as the genetic sampling is done, I guess :) Right now the only unifying factor is the flowers
