Monte Verde lies in the rainforest above the Gulf of Nicoya on the Atlantic coast of Costa Rica. On clear days - or better on those parts of the day when the clouds break up - you can see from here across the Gulf to the Nicoya Peninsula. The first photo was taken after a heavy rain, shortly before 18:00, i.e. at sunset. The second at sunrise, next morning.
Our log cabin was lying on steep rocks, on the edge before the break off to the gulf. So it offered a unique view, which changed within minutes from fog or pouring rain to sun and clear view.
