Technology acceptance

The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is a theoretical framework that explains how users come to accept and use technology. Developed by Fred Davis in 1989, TAM suggests that two key factors influence technology adoption: perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU). Perceived usefulness refers to the extent to which a person believes that using a particular system would enhance their job performance, while perceived ease of use refers to the degree to which a person believes that using the system would be free from effort. These factors, in turn, shape users' attitudes towards technology, which ultimately influence their behavioral intention to use the technology. TAM is widely used to study user adoption in various fields, including information systems, e-commerce, and education.
