As the name suggests, educational psychology is concerned with the processes related to learning covering the emotional and social facets of the learning process. It aims at identifying individuals who are unique so that effective instruction, motivation, or classroom organization can be employed for the good of the learners. The educational psychologists formulate various concepts and approaches of enhancing strategies used in teaching, planning, and evaluation. Added to these are functions like ensuring, where possible, the elimination of learning barriers and observed undesirable behaviors in students, as well as moderating emotions. This area of concentration incorporates both psychology and education, assisting teachers in developing elements of a positive learning experience. Some of the principal figures that bring the above consideration include, Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, and B.F. Skinner who emphasized the importance of the stages of development, social learning and reinforcement of behavior. There is no doubt that its importance to the effective ways of delivering teaching that enables learners to naturally reach their full potential is unchallenged.
