Phoenix Park
Phoenix Park is one of the largest parks in the city of Dublin, Ireland. The park is quite extensive and covered with approximately 1757 acres making it one of the largest enclosed plots in the world. The history of Phoenix Park goes back to the year 1662 when it was established primarily as an area used for hunting purposes. Today this area serves as recreational and picnic spot for people.
The park has numerous attractions such as the Dublin Zoo, the polo ground, cycle tracks among others. There is an open grassland and wooded areas that can also be attractive to nature lovers. The Phoenix Park has also other important locations such as the Aras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the President of Ireland and the American embassy Ambassador's Residence.
