Basic Knowledge
Refers to information that helps a person make sense of the world and function in it. It encompasses the most fundamental institution, and skills, beginning with reading, writing, basic counting, the knowledge of health, security, and rules of social interactions. People knowing basic knowledge are able to make reasonable choices in daily life. For instance, being able to understand or read for that matter signage or instructions is important for one’s well-being. Basic knowledge is however largely associated with communication and the ability to handle issues and acquire new things. Also, such basic knowledge is useful in upgrading the level of learning which one is in school, work or self-improvement. This type of knowledge develops from an early age and throughout one’s life through experiences, education, and socialization.
