My story today before going to work I went to the garden behind my house and found a ciplukan tree trunk that was almost ripe, the color was starting to turn yellow.
This is a ciplukan trunk found in a garden near the house about 100 meters from my house, the ciplukan plant that Hana used to be a pest in all farmers' gardens and mine was only a pest in plants like most people planted corn, cucumbers, chilies, tomatoes and many others that are impossible to mention one by one here in my place too.
But why is this one tree now a tree that is sold in malls very expensive, namely the ciplukan tree or ciplukan plant.
Besides the price, maybe a lot of protein

Ciplukan fruit (Physalis angulata), also known as goldenberry or ground cherry, has several nutritional benefits, although its protein content is not too high. In 100 grams of ciplukan fruit, there is about 1 gram of protein. Although the protein content is small, ground cherries still have nutritional value because they contain vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants, and various minerals.

Here are some of the nutritional contents of ground cherries:

Protein: 1 gram per 100 grams

Vitamin C: High, useful for boosting the immune system

Carotenoids and polyphenols: Antioxidants that are good for health

Fiber: Helps digestion

Overall, ground cherries are better known for their vitamin and antioxidant content than as a source of protein. However, it is still a nutritious and beneficial fruit for health.

The ground cherry plant (Physalis angulata) is a small shrub known for its golden yellow fruit and is wrapped in lantern-shaped petals. This plant often grows wild in tropical and subtropical areas, including in Indonesia. Ground cherries have many health benefits and are often used in traditional medicine.

Here are some of the characteristics of the ground cherries:

1. Stem:

The stem is upright and branched, with a height of between 30-50 cm.

2. Leaves:

The leaves are oval or slightly rounded with pointed tips and wavy or serrated edges.

3. Fruit:

The ground cherry fruit is small, round, and green when young, then turns golden yellow when ripe. This fruit is wrapped in petals that resemble small balloons or lanterns.

4. Flowers:

The ground cherry flower is yellow with brown or purple patterns in the middle, emerging from the leaf axils.

Benefits of the ground cherry plant:

1. Rich in nutrients:

Ground cherry fruit contains vitamin C, vitamin A, and several antioxidants such as polyphenols and carotenoids.

2. Traditional medicine:

In traditional medicine, ground cherry is often used to treat several conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and infections.

3. Anti-inflammatory and antibacterial:

This part of the plant is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, so it is used to relieve inflammation and help heal wounds.

Ciplukan not only grows wild but is now also being cultivated due to the increasing demand for the fruit, especially because its health benefits are becoming widely known.
