Central Park
Central Park is one of the biggest parks that is located in New York City within Manhattan. It encompasses 843 acres of land and attracts many with its quietness and scenery away from the fast pace of the city. Created and conceptualized by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the park became operational in 1858 and continues to receive many New Yorkers and tourists as well. It has lakes, parks with trees, child-friendly outdoor facilities, and features of interest such as the Central Park Zoo and Bethesda Terrace. They can also walk, run, swim, or hire a boat at the lake. Such recreational activities as theatre plays and concerts are also often performed in the region, as well as winter and summer events. The combination of environmental attractions and culture offerings makes these types of places very appreciated in such a highly populated city as New York.
