The world of travel has definately changed. Even though we all know this, it still hits hard when you go somewhere known to be buzzing with tourism. One such place is the small fishing town of Cienfuegos, Cuba.
My partner invited me there for an early birthday getaway and I was taken back by the beauty of the views there.
We stayed in a lovely 4 bedroom house on the edge of the town overlooking the water. We had the place completely to ourselves which we made the best of. The staff offered to open the kitchen for lunch or dinner if we wanted but we declined because we knew how much hassle it would be to open it just for us two. They were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome.
We spent both nights at an amazing small bar called Puerto viejo (old Port). Again I can not stress enough how friendly everyone was. Something very common in the Cuban towns.
I am grateful for those two short days that were full of tranquility.
great place to relieve stress
