Bathurst is an Australian regional town centre that is best known for its mountain climb racing event... but it is also home to a performing arts centre that attracts quite a lot of performers from the larger cities. I had the good fortune of playing there recently, and I was put up in this hotel/suite in Bathurst.

I was racing (nope...) the bus from Sydney... actually, I was leaving from elsewhere, and I ended up this hideously potholed single carriageway road that was winding and had moments where the asphalt was completely gone! Anyway, it was the sort of driving which keeps you on edge and concentrated although, my wife did end up asking if I slowed down... and I did, just not down to a crawl. Anyway, the good thing was that most of the locals seemed to know that it was a crappy road... and so there was no traffic at all! Which meant that I could use more of the road to dodge craters...

Anyway, after arriving... I was put up at the Littomore Hotels... and I did manage to beat the tour bus as well! They took the long way around, with the nice road... but longer.

As you can see the room is nicely spacious and well lit. Lots of parking outside, as Littomore does seem to function as a travel stop for people passing through Bathurst. Quite a normal thing for regional towns, for people to break up long drives with an overnight rest stop.

Still... it is quite compact at the back. I'm not really a fan of having the bed at the front of a room. It does meant that you hear all the noise from all the other people walking up and down the corridors... and the late arrivals from the car park.

A small desk to work at... and a TV. Unfortunately, no kitchen stovetop or anything that would make it easy to cook at. But then again, most people (myself included) are just a overnight stay... and it means that we would just eat out instead of trying to cook!

Still, despite the layout of the room... it was a pleasant place to stay at, and I would do another overnight travel/performance stay at the Littomore again!
