In Odessa there are a lot of places where lovers like to spend time. But, with special reverence, respect, popularity is enjoyed by the Teschin Bridge and the park, which is located nearby. It is for this park that the speech will go.
Lovers' park
It starts with a big heart of lovers. Previously, newlyweds preferred to hang locks, personifying an inextricable connection for all time, on the railing of the Mother-in-law's bridge. Due to the large number of people willing to hang locks, the weight of the bridge became critical. It was decided to create, open the Heart of Lovers. Now there are hundreds and thousands of locks. Not only residents of the city come here, but also guests.
Nearby we see an amazing fountain. In the center is a Greek nymph. She pours water from a jug. Running water represents the running of time. For lovers, time flies at the speed of light. The years turn into moments.
Gazebo and grotto. The base of the gazebo is made in the form of a grotto. These peculiar caves allow to emphasize the peculiarity of the creative thought of the creators of the park.
The bridge connects the two banks. It is a symbol. The bridge can connect not only river banks, but also the hearts of lovers. Being on different banks, people are trying to find the very bridge that will unite them into a single whole. Fates will connect the bridge. Lovers want to live together for eternity. Even in the registry office they say that only death will part the newlyweds.
Now we go down to the very bottom. We pass under the bridge and stop near the well. This is a symbolic building. In ancient times, such drainage tanks were installed in different parts of Odessa. The water that accumulated there was sold. It cost 10-15 kopecks / bucket.
We go up the steps back to the park. Here we are met by a griffin. True, there were two of them before. But still, one still continues to guard the peace of the lovers.
A few words for this place
This peculiar park is called "a corner of Old Odessa". We spoke for the sculpture and the fountain. There is a version that it used to be a tombstone in a destroyed cemetery. Humpbacked bridge over the river. Another symbolism. There have never been rivers in the city. But at the same time, there were a lot of bridges over different beams. I have already spoken for the well. The griffin has remained since the creation of the city.
So, lovers, townspeople and ordinary tourists can enjoy not only the beauty of this place, but also touch the history of Old Odessa. This park is included in one, my big excursion route. If you want to listen to Odessa, then you can contact me in the comments. We will discuss the date and time of the excursion and the route.
