This was one of the last beaches we went to this year. Its pretty near to our house in Mishima and so, easy to get to on a Thursday afternoon, after working in the morning.
The beach is a famous one, thanks to the anime Love Live Sunshine. on the anime it looks lovely, but, in reality, the beach is pretty small, close to the main road, the sand is nice, but a little dirty and the tide brings in some weird things. Luckily we were there before the tide decided to throw a lot of human and animal detritus on us, so we had a pretty good time. There's a car park you can use up the hill from the beach and Seven Eleven is nearby for your toilet and snacking needs.
Its very sheltered from the elements, so there are no waves there, but its nice and clear and we saw a lot of fish swimming there, small, large and even some squid floated past. That was nice, as we had bought a snorkel set with us and it really made itself worthwhile that day.
Its a small beach, and can get a little crowded, although we went on a weekday, so it was OK. I hiked there a week later on Saturday, from Shuzenji and the place was a lot busier, mainly with families.
It is a nice place though, with some hotels very nearby and an aquarium only a couple of minutes walk away. I recommend it.
