At the end of Grunwaldzka Street, just before the cliffs, behind the maritime rescue base, surrounded by trees, there is a small wooden house around which many interesting stories have been told over the years. Remains of a wrought iron fence can be seen all around. A Lost Place, formerly used by Eva Braun, maybe

Anyone with knowledge of history will recognize the remains of typical German military lamps. The paths, which were overgrown until a few years ago, are now wide. The rubbish that was previously dumped here has been removed.

It's a ghosttown, made by one house

A small wooden House

It is an amazing career that one of perhaps the most enigmatic remnants of the past has made in Pobierowo, Poland. It is a simple wooden house, just a few meters away from a staircase that once led to the beach in the dark past. Today it is locked and boarded up because it is dilapidated.

On the left side once was a guards house

Dilapidated like the wooden house next door, which has become one of the most popular sights in the entire region. Although there is nothing to see apart from a few mossy walls, a hint of former beauty and lots of graffiti.

Pale ride to a forgotten place

But the two-story building, to which there is no longer any access, is not just any beach house. Since rumors began circulating that Eva Braun, the lover and later wife of Adolf Hitler, spent her summer vacation in this house, more and more tourists have been discovering the site.

The Concubine of the "Führer"

The house has been empty for decades, it is dilapidated and can now only be viewed from the outside. But anyone who gets into Eva Braun's house in Pobierowo, the concubine of the "Führer" and church criminal Hitler for many years, will discover a modest building that has withstood the test of time quite well.

There is a large fireplace, now without a fireplace, a few side rooms that were probably bedrooms, and a large kitchen that has been cleared out. There is rubbish everywhere, the walls have not only been smeared but also kicked in by previous visitors.

The house in the western part of Pobierowo, located between Świnoujście and Rewal, certainly benefited in the summer from being in the middle of the forest and always being supplied with fresh sea air over the cliff to the Baltic Sea. But since it hasn't been lived in for so long, it has become musty, moldy and damp.

No one knows

The residents also know little about the building. What is certain is that the wooden house was built in the 1930s. In the following decade, Eva Braun is said to have spent her summer holidays there, or so the locals say. The only real fact is that the facility was guarded by German soldiers at the time. The traces of this guard organization can still be seen - foundations of the guard house, a standard-sized driveway, remnants of barbed wire in the forest all around that no one bothered to remove.

After the end of World War II, the building was abandoned and fell into disrepair, although it was temporarily maintained. There is no evidence that Hitler himself ever stayed in the villa, but it is certain that Hermann Göring, who lived in nearby Międzywodzie and visited the seaplane base in Dziwnów, was here. Who he visited, whether he perhaps lived here and received visitors - all of this is unclear. There is not even written evidence of who owned the house at the time.

New hotels, old ghosts

At least Eva's villa, as visitors call it, hasn't been demolished yet. The building is currently abandoned and devastated, but in the future it could make a career as the biggest informal attraction of the up-and-coming holiday resort of Pobierowo: Grunwaldzka Street 6 is located directly between the town's two largest hotels, which are currently still under construction.

In winter times the place is cruel

Once they are open, more than 2,000 additional guests will probably come to the still sleepy town every week. The seemingly ordinary house with the unusual history, once guarded, lonely in a forest by the sea and now a scary place nearby, could attract countless guests.

The legend of the past

Since the leader's wife left, the house has been empty, although there are rumors that someone has been secretly looking after the mansion. It is currently unused, although there are rumors that someone has purchased the area - but local officials know nothing about it, so it remains just a rumor.

The staiway to the beach is closed

A legend says that the ghost of Eva Braun haunts her former villa - mainly in autumn. This ghost is described as a pale woman who is difficult to distinguish from a real person. A story like this also belongs to a place like this. Nobody knows how much truth there is in this, but brave people supposedly like to try night trips to the area, which is officially allowed to enter.
