When you go to Hoi An, Vietnam, a US heritage site about 40 km from the city is as big and impressive as Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

But I think it's worth the visit.

The Mi Seon Historic Site was the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom (4th to 14th centuries) and was built to worship Shiva, the white-headed god, and is one of the most important historical sites in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia.

The site of the Misun was used not only as a white temple, but also as a burial site for people considered to be true royals and national heroes.

In 1885, French architect, archaeologist, historian, Henry Parmentier and his colleagues unearthed the site, and during excavation and documentation, they found 72 monuments within a two-kilometer-wide valley.

Unfortunately during the Vietnam War, the United States bombed the area, and in less than a week, most of the US heritage sites were destroyed.

This region of Vietnam is very hot, so the best time to explore the My Son Complex is early morning or late afternoon. I went on a sunrise tour, but there are usually many tours departing from Hoi An around 10:30 other than sunrise tours.

The sunrise tour is $ 11 / 250,000 dongs, which includes basic breakfast, sunrise group tours, transportation, boating, etc., and no admission fee.

Thanks to the bombings that took place during the Vietnam War, the temples at the US Heritage Sites can easily see which temples have been restored because of the differences in the bricks used, some of which are piled up, blocked, and rebuilt.
