How's it going Travelfeeders and Steemers??

So let me continue my story about our time in the Masai Mara.

After lunch we were back on safari and on the look out for cheetahs!

The Masai Mara is known for cheetahs and we were not disappointed.

Along our journey we came across some crested cranes hanging out with pumbas 😊

It's so funny seeing their hair blow in the wind it looks like a toupee about to fall off..

A giraffe was just chilling on the side of the road.

It wasn't long until we came across a mother with three cubs relaxing in the grass.

It was now 4 pm in the afternoon. So this is the perfect hunting time for these guys.

As we sat in our land cruiser waiting for some movement. It wasn't long until the mum got up, followed by her three juvenile cubs. It was hunting time!!!

The Masai Mara has huge open plains which make it very easy for the cheetahs to hunt. They have an explosive fast chase on them and can run up to 100km/H.

But also the open plains makes it easy for the prey to see them coming.

As they walk past you could see all the animals stop dead in their tracks. The ostrich, Zebra, impala and dik diks all pause like a statue.

They could smell the cheetahs sent in the air.

The cheetahs roll out in a pack, looking for their dinner opportunities. Panic sets in amongst all the animals around. A herd of impala start running, the ostriches find refuge behind our vehicles, then some bush rabbits even hop out of the grass onto the road. I didn't even know these guys were here.

The cheetahs are the fastest land mammal and have a success rate of 50% when hunting. Which is pretty good odds out here in the wild.

As they walked out into the plains there was a tension in the air. Something was about to die...

One cheetah starts the hunt by going for a baby warthog. Or as everyone in the world has now renamed them, Pumba haha.

Our driver went off road and started to follow the cheetahs. It felt like we were part of the hunt!

The Pumba mum isn't having any of this and chases off the cheetah. I have never seen a Pumba chase a cheetah before! This was some real David Attenborough shit right here.

This was the perfect diversion as the Pumba chased off one of the cheetahs. The other three went in for the hunt. A baby antelope was caught out in all the commotion and separated from the herd. So one of the cheetahs picked it out. It didn't take long at all before the cheetah had it in its mouth.

The other two cheetahs came running up. Then they all started to fight over the antelope. Ripping it apart right in front of us, as it was taking its last breaths. We got to witness the circle of life right here in the wild.

WOW! That was such a rush to see in real life. These cheetahs out hunting with a successful kill. I had only ever seen this on TV and it was definitely something I wanted to see in real life while on this African adventure. Tick that off the list ☑️

The driver quickly rushed back to the dirt road as we have to leave the park by 5pm.

Stay tuned for more East African Adventure blogs and I hope you like the photos and my incoherent ramblings haha.

Very nice pics of wild life but poor deer is always the prey for cheetah and hynes , i really dislike hynes because they eat and prey the cows and deer vry brutally.

It is brutal but, it is the circle of life.
