What a cool place this is! I felt like I was in a scene from a Thai "Back to the Future" movie. Some parts of this this park/lake had me feeling like I was back home in the United States at a lake side state park in the 80s. The grass was green, children were playing and laughing, the sun was shinning, people where pic-nicking. No riff-raff, just a lot of families and young couples enjoying an afternoon by the lake. You could feel the good mood, the peace, the calm, and the genuine harmony of the people and culture of Northern Thailand. Hua tueng Thao Lake turned out to be a great place to spend an afternoon.
There were people feeding the fish, people feeding the sheep as a mini petting zoo was set up in one area. There were people in paddle boats, people in Kayaks, people in bamboo huts hanging out out over the water's shore getting drunk on Chang the national beer and having a laugh! There were people all over the place and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves very much.
Then you wander across the street and you find yourself in a rice field with giant hay sculptures of King Kong, elephants, oxen, a lion, and more. It was a photo frenzy. You could climb up into King Kong's mouth and take an instant instagramable selfie for you and all your friends. There were also real Buffaloes which you could ride, or stand next and have your photo taken which I did.
There were food stands, cold fresh coconuts, ice cream, warm sunshine, fresh air, and good vibes all around! Now come along lets have a closer look at Huay Tueng Thao Lake in Chiang Mai Thailand!
THANK YOU
