Water is one of the most important elements in our life.It not only quenches our thirst but also very useful for proper functioning of various body functions. About 60% healthy human body is made up water.So drinking enough water every day is very important for health.
Role of water in body functions
Below are the roles of water in some important functions of the body
1. Eases the digestive process
Sufficient water is required for proper digestion of food. It helps in softening the food and allows it to work easily in the digestive system.
2. Helps in blood circulation
A large part our blood is made up of water. Without enough water blood thicken which can hinder the proper delivery of oxygen and nutrients different parts body.
3. Eliminates toxins
Water removes harmful and unnecessary substances from the body through urine and sweat.So if you drink less water then these toxic substances can accumulate in body and cause various problems.
4. Regulates body temperature
On hot days or when exercising body produces sweat, which keeps the body cool. Not drinking enough water can lead to problems regulating body temperature.
5. Keeps skin healthy
Lack of water causes the skin to become dry and various problems arise.Drinking enough water keeps the skin hydrated and glowing.
6. Keeps kidneys healthy
Kidneys work to remove waste from the body.Drinking less water increases the chances kidney stones.Therefore, it is necessary to drink enough water regularly to keep the kidneys healthy.
7. Increases brain performance
Drinking less water can lead to headaches loss concentration and impaired memory. Drinking enough water keeps brain fresh and active.

An adult should drink least 8/10 glasses water day.However it is necessary increase amount on hot days or if the body is more active.

How to develop the habit drinking water,
