Hello dear Steemit community! I'm so glad to have the opportunity to promote my lovely city through this blockchain thank to this creative initiative that I've never expected to see in a contest. So, let's get started. This is: Ciudad Bolívar.

Description

Bolívar City is the capital of Bolivar State, which belongs to the Guayana regional area of this Latin American country (Venezuela) and it's located at the narrowness part of Orinoco's River, one of the mightiest in the world. Historically, it has been the witness of several important events. So, this place has an unique and charming historical center. For a good reason was considered to be included on the tentative list as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO since 2003.

What can you visit?

Over here you can visit several attractions that worth it a lot. So here you are the following places:

City Hall

This beautiful two-buildings hadn't the concrete's bridge before and the hospitals Ruíz & Páez was working over there. It has architectural details from neoclassic influence.

Metropolitan Cathedral

There's a big history behind of its construction, but it took a long and hard time to finish it. Trust me. This catholic church is the most emblematic of our city. Bell's sounds is lovely every hour.

Angostura House

Place where Liberator Bolívar has announced his historical speech in the Congress of Angostura to create the Great Colombia, the joining of this country with Venezuela, Panamá and Ecuador.

Piar's Prison

This is the house where served as temporal jail for Manuel Piar before his shooting to end his life in one of the lateral walls of the Saint Thomas Cathedral (the metropolitan).

Cable-stayed Bridge

Also called Angostura, the previous name of the city due to the narrowness site of the river and now took the Bolívar's one, this very first bridge is built in 1967 to connect Guayana with the rest of the country.

Middle Stone

A natural hydrometer called "Orinocómetro" that works to measure the swelling of the water's level (that's why this name), it's a humongous stone located right smack dab in the middle of the river.

Lanchitas Port

The swelling of the river takes place during the August month, where there's a lot of delicious fish, the Sapoara, which is prepared as a traditional dish to celebrate the festival in the honour of this annual natural event.

Museum Soto

Jesús Soto was an op artist that has born here. He was the master mind of this yellow penetrable, one of his kinetic creations. You can find his collections in several famous museums in the world.

Zamuro's Hill

Over here is located a small fort in an strategic high hill to cover the whole vision of the city in order to protect it from external battle attacks at the beginning of last century.

Saint Isidro

It was the residential house of our national independence hero, the Liberator Simón Bolívar, before the installation of the Angostura Congress. It has interesting colonial furnitures.

How can you reach this city?

Despite there's not enough airlines operating in the International Airport of Maiquetia, here's the official airline, Conviasa Aero, that is offering flights to our nation from few countries:

Where can you stay?

Once you arrived to the Tomas de Here's airport, you can only go to cross the street and stay in the best hotel of this area, the "Laja Real" hotel, but "Doña Casilda" lodge is also a good one because is located closer to the river and historical center. Both has a price per night of 30 $ and 40 $ for standard and double room, correspondingly.

Doña Casilda Lodgehttps://w3w.co/contó.mangas.lonas

Which meals can you eat?

For sure, the best moment in the year is in August to taste a good Sapoara dish, but in general lines, it's an excellent option to taste a cachapa with cheese or tequeño (1,5 $ average price), although you can't miss a tasty arepa for around 3.75 $ from Arepa Café CBO.

Previously, I've prepared a pair of articles in the Steem Foods Community, where I'm recommending a charming restaurant where is easy to find typical food from this city and recently they inaugurated another one in the airport area, the Café Angostura.

And also, if you're craving of fast food, in that cafe you can also buy a 1kg of pizza for 7,5 $, moreover of sandwiches (1x3 $ and 2x5 $), maybe hotdogs (3 $) or burguers, but a delicious option for these ones is theFast Food 8001.

Well dear Steemians, I hope I covered the main places of my city, although there are still a lot to talk about. So, for further information to figure out why I am so proud of my locality, you can download and check this PDF published in spanish. Thanks for reading.

Even though it looks like an ocean!

I really love the cleanliness and maintenance of the first few photos. Really enjoyed the post

Yes. This river is very huge indeed, that's why is one of the most important in the world, like the Nile river in Egypt. And local government has been in charge to maintain some of these buildings. Thank you so much for stopping by my post. Cheers! 😇
