The Diary Game 08/03/2022 Mother Russia

Far be it from me to have more special feelings of love or hate for the Russians, or for the Americans, for the Ukrainians, or for anyone else. I try to understand why these entities behave in the way they behave, the essential mechanisms that force them to take action, their motivations.

I try to do it in a decent and balanced way, equidistant if possible, although such an attempt is not easy. It is especially difficult to say anything in more turbulent times, when hatred and fear roam freely throughout Europe. What you understand, what you put in a rational and logical way as much as possible, is no longer such a stress factor, so man tries to put in logical schemes what is going on.

What is clear is that in Europe, especially in the East, there is a great hatred of the Russians, based on the recent memory of the communist period: there is also an admiration for the Americans, perceived as a kind of hope - reminiscent of at a time when they were the free and prosperous world you saw from afar and hoped would save us from the political, cultural and economic disaster of communism.

This cultural imprint in which the Russians are the devil and the Americans are the hope resists the passage of time, and even to quite educated and intelligent people, it is felt in the position towards reality, based on the respective orientations. The traumas of the past leave deep traces.

Just as in Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan, hatred of invading Americans will persist for a long time, so in Eastern Europe will visceral hatred of Moscow / Russia persist. But this hatred does not help in rational, cold analyzes you might say, in which you should see the whole situation more emotionally uninvolved - in order to have a somewhat undistorted image in your interest. That's why the story is so complicated.

On the territory that is or is now Ukraine, including Crimea, there have been and are people of different ethnicities who have nothing to do with the Ukrainians. They became citizens of Ukraine as a result of the political misery of the 20th century - unintentionally. I mean Russians, Hungarians, Romanians and so on.

In recent years, these ethnic communities have been harmed and assaulted in various ways by the nationalist structures of the state, being cut off from all kinds of rights to use the mother language, preserving cultural identity, harassment of leaders and so on, a kind of forced integration. In response to such situations, Hungary said it was using its veto power to block Ukraine's accession to NATO - until the issue was resolved.

Russia has chosen another option, a little tougher. In other words, it used this subject to substantiate his actions to strengthen his position in the face of the expansion of Western structures, more specifically the NATO military presence, which is a very, very defensive structure, but which immediately puts its military bases "in the Kremlin court".

Which is a military and political force, with some extraordinary energy resources… a big bear. You can't keep putting the stick in the fence, stressing it out, thinking it's sleeping.

It is interesting to note who has affinities when it comes to Russians and Americans. It is fashionable to have love for the Americans and hatred for the Russians, as if the world had only black and white. As if one is the symbol of evil, dictatorship, state crime, the other the symbol of good, democracy, morality and truth.

This is in the brains of the oligophrenics, those who grew up based on American Hollywood movies, in which Americans save the world, in which they are always the good, the solution, the help, the salvation.

More balanced intellectuals generally do not have such illusions. They see in these two entities two power structures that have their own interests, the ones on which they act.

They only need you to increase their power, and if their interests demand it, they will sacrifice you as an insignificant marginal animal. They would drop all the bombs they have in stock on you when the expiration date approaches.

Standing applause for this publication, people are moved en masse like sheep and are biased by one side or another. But the reality is that they look after their own interests.

You are absolutely right in what I quote from you.

I didn't know about the history of the ethnic communities in Ukraine. thanks for the information. Let's hope that after this jolt, things will settle down. You are a very good Steemit user.
