Sui social mi imbatto spesso in pagine che si occupano
dell'affido di cani.
Un paio in particolare parlano del Beagle, la razza del mio Birillo, oramai con me da quasi 8 anni.
Mai avrei pensato ad una percentuale cosi' alta di abbandoni di cani di questa razza, non so come sia la situazione per le altre
razze, non credo purtroppo molto differente.
Fra l'altro parliamo di un cane che ha anche un suo bel costo.

Quando lo andai a prendere non conoscevo questo mondo
sommerso di cani abbandonati altrimenti sicuramente mi sarei
appoggiato a quello.
Detto questo sono arcifelice col mio Birllone che adoro.
Pero' mi chiedo come davvero si possa abbandonare un cane, il
proprio cane, un pezzo della propria famiglia.

Leggo negli annunci di ricerca di affido le motivazioni che hanno spinto la famiglia precedente a liberarsene e francamente quella gente non riesce a non farmi schifo.
E' normale che un cucciolo sia un casinista, che ti faccia qualche danno alla casa, hai preso un essere vivente non un peluche.

Occorrerebbe pero' informarsi bene prima sulle caratteristiche di una razza per non avere poi spiacevoli sorprese dopo, un cane non e' il giochetto per il bimbo piccolo perche' poi il bimbo del giochetto si stufa ma il cane oramai c'e' e va gestito.

Se si sceglie un beagle devi sapere che sara' superiperattivo, che se lo porti in uno spazio verde aperto comandera' il naso, che se passa un gatto, una volpe, una lepre o qualunque animale in movimento lui lo inseguira' fottendosene di ogni tuo richiamo.
Devi sapere che ha un olfatto che se apri uno yoghurt inodore 4 camere lontano lui lo sentira' e arrivera', che sara' sempre
affamato, sempre pronto a mangiare ad ogni ora, qualunque cosa.

Se hai poco tempo da dedicargli allora non prendere un beagle
perche' se lo lasci solo per ore fara' disastri inimmaginabili.
I lati positivi sono cosi' tanti che ci vorrebbe un libro per elencarli tutti, ma ci vuole tanta pazienza, una volta superati i 2/3 anni cambiera' tutto e sara' ancora piu' bello.

If you choose a beagle, you must know that he will be super hyperactive, that if you take him into an open green space his nose will command him, that if a cat, a fox, a hare or any moving animal passes by, he will chase it, not giving a damn about your recall.
You must know that he has a sense of smell that if you open an odorless yoghurt 4 chambers away he will smell it and it will arrive, which will always be
hungry, always ready to eat at any time, anything.

If you're short on time for him then don't get a beagle
because if you leave him alone for hours he will make unimaginable disasters.
The positive sides are so many that it would take a book to list them all, but it takes a lot of patience, once the 2/3 years are over he will change everything and it will be even more beautiful.
