Nei giorni scorsi si sono verificati due episodi drammatici che sono lo specchio del mondo in cui stiamo vivendo.

A Sumy, in Ucraina un missile russo ha ucciso alcune decine di persone, fra cui alcuni bambini.
Lo stesso giorno il regime assassino di Israele ha bombardato l'ultimo ospedale di Gaza ancora in piedi, decine di morti anche li' e le lettighe in mezzo alla strada.

I nostri giornali, il nostro governo, l'unione europea, l'Onu hanno trattato queste due tragedie in modo molto diverso.
Tutti indignati per la bomba russa, silenzio assordante per quelle israeliane.
Eppure in tutti due i casi sono morte persone, bambini, cazzo...bambini.

Esiste pero' una sensibilita' diversa, direi con un velo di razzismo neanche troppo nascosto.
Quelli sono morti arabi, questi sono europei.

Pare che a Sumy si stesse svolgendo in un edificio una riunione militare, in mezzo a case abitate da civili, in un paese in guerra.
Questo non giustifica nulla ma e' significativo di come i civili, vengano usati come scudi umani, non da oggi.
Eppure questa guerra assomiglia molto alla prima guerra mondiale dove si combatte nelle trincee e nelle boscaglie cercando di tenere i civili, quando possibile, lontani dalle bombe.
Se i russi fossero come gli israeliani, un bel bombardamento su Kiev, 100 mila morti e la guerra finirebbe in due giorni.
Ma i russi considerano gli ucraini mezzi....russi, quindi episodi come quello di Sumy, tragici e condannabili, sono per fortuna abbastanza episodici.

Mentre il massacro di bambini, donne e civili e' il fiore all'occhiello della guerra che Israele sta' combattendo contro Hamas ma soprattutto contro la popolazione palestinese.
Due guerre, due eccidi, due pesi e misure differenti, diverso impatto mediatico, diverse indignazioni.

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES

In recent days, two dramatic episodes have occurred that are a reflection of the world we are living in.

In Sumy, Ukraine, a Russian missile killed dozens of people, including some children.
On the same day, the murderous regime of Israel bombed the last hospital in Gaza still standing, dozens of deaths there too, and stretchers in the middle of the street.

Our newspapers, our government, the European Union, the UN have treated these two tragedies very differently.
Everyone was outraged by the Russian bomb, deafening silence for the Israeli ones.
And yet in both cases, people died, children, damn it...children.

However, there is a different sensitivity, I would say with a veil of racism that is not even too hidden.
Those are Arab deaths, these are Europeans.

It seems that in Sumy a military meeting was taking place in a building, among houses inhabited by civilians, in a country at war.
This does not justify anything but it is significant of how civilians are used as human shields, not from today.
And yet this war is very similar to the First World War where they fight in trenches and in the bush trying to keep civilians, when possible, away from the bombs.
If the Russians were like the Israelis, a good bombing on Kiev, 100 thousand dead and the war would end in two days.
But the Russians consider the Ukrainians half....Russians, so episodes like the one in Sumy, tragic and condemnable, are fortunately quite episodic.

While the massacre of children, women and civilians is the flagship of the war that Israel is fighting against Hamas but above all against the Palestinian population.
Two wars, two massacres, two different weights and measures, different media impact, different indignation.
