When you talk about relationships, there are things that makes them so. In families, the relationship is based on the bloodline. When relationships exists between two nations, it could be based on trade, culture, or tourism.

In my studies, I have come to know that Nigereia and Italy, have or share similarities in the following areas:

In terms culture, Nigeria and Italy have it in abundance. Their diverse cultural heritage is their asset which shows the uniqueness of their Identity. In Nigeria for instance, there are over 500 different spoken languages and over 250 ethnic nationalities having different cultural set up and united as a country. This puts the country in advantage of using these diverse cultural heritage to the benefit of the country and to the world at large.

So when we talk of one of the things that Nigeria and Italy have in common, they both have a rich cultural heritag.

Italy is known to be the citadel for the advancement of the old rome. Rome was known to be a kingdom as far back as 753 BC and became a republic in 503BC as histotry records.
Some of the outstanding events that makes Italy to be rich in their historical journey includes:

  • The rise of julius ceaser

  • Creation of the roman empire in the second and third century

  • The Italian war of 1594–1559

  • The declearation of Italy as a Republic in 1946

There are other key historical enents that I could not mention here, that brings Italy as top in rich history.

On the same ground, there are key events that also put Nigeria in the map of nations with rich history archives. Some these events includes:

  • The amalgamation of the nothern and southern Nigeria in 1914

  • The Aba Women riot of 1923

  • Nigeria's independence in 1960 and subsequenlry as a republic in 1963

  • The Niveria's oil boom in the 1970 and above

There are a lot events stored up in the archives that I could not mention, which adds to Nigeria's richness in history.

Nigeria can cook for Africa, while Italy can cook for Europe, as the saying goes....
These two countries are recognized for their skills in making delicious meals. Their diverse dishes makes one to appreciate the tastes from these regions and sub-regions.

In my country for example, there are different kinds of dishes that when you eat it, the tate, smell or flavor would not leave in your mouth and hands so quickly. Let me mention some of them:

  • The afang
  • The nsala
  • The Edikai-kong
  • The Ofe-Oweeri
    To mention just a few.

DIVERSIVE RELIGION
Both Nigeria and Italy have diverse religion and belief. They grant their citizens the right to freedom of worship.

In Italy, there are the catholics and christians, the muslims, the atheist and other religions with their different beliefs that are allowed to practice their choice of religion.

In Nigeria, there are also the right to freedom of worship. People are allowed to practice their religions and beliefs without a hinderance. Some of the religions in the country include:

  • the christianity

  • the Islam

  • the traditional religion.

Above these three religions, the christianity and Islam is the most practiced religion although there are other religions that are been practiced in the country.

Nigeria and Italy have similar family values. The values are rooted in loyalty as they respect their elders and their opinions when making that could have huge impacts on them. The bonds both countries share to their families are very strong with established support systems that gives eveyone equal chances to succeed.

For instance in Nigeria, the extended families are reached out and taken care of. They are put in first line consideration when matters involving a family member arises.
