1 . Italy, a country in south-central Europe, has occupied a peninsula that penetrates deep into the Mediterranean.
Italy is made up of several varied and picturesque landscapes of the world and is often described as a boot-shaped country. Its wide expanse is the Alps, one of the strongest mountains in the world.
Italy's highest points are Monte Roger, as well as Switzerland's Peak and Mont Blanc, as well as France. The western Alps overlooks the Po Po River and a landscape of Alpine lakes and glacier carved valleys extending into Piedmont. Tuscany, south of the Sispline region, is probably the most well-known region in the country.
The long Apennine range extends from the Central Alps, which stretches down the length of the country, to Rome, covering almost the entire width of the Italian peninsula.
To the south of Rome the Apennines are narrow and flat by two wide coastal plains, one facing the Tyrrhenian Sea and the other the Adriatic Sea.
Much of the lower Apennine range is located near deserts, hosting a wide range of rare species such as wild boar, wolves, asps and bears, somewhere in Western Europe.
2, The southern Apennines are often disturbed by several active volcanoes, including the Vesuvius, which from time to time emit ash and vapor into the air over the surface of Naples and its island-wide bay. At the bottom of the country are the islands of Sicily and Sardinia in the Mediterranean.
Eurovision Song Contest
- Not only was Italy 1 of the founding participants of the Eurovision Song Contest, taking part in the first-ever edition in 1956, but the country is also responsible for the entire Eurovision format! The Eurovision Song Contest was modelled on the popular Festival di Sanremo which began in 1951.
2.Italy has won the Eurovision Song Contest twice. In 1964, Gigliola Cinquetti stormed the scoreboard for Italy, getting almost 3 times as many votes as the runner-up with Non Ho L'età. In 1965, the contest was held in Naples.
