The pandemic has taken so many things away from us, among them the pleasure of enjoying and having fun at concerts, one of the things I honestly missed the most. So here I am after years at a proper concert, that of Slipknot at the Castello Scaligero in Verona, a top location for a band that can hold the stage like few others. True the somewhat extreme genre may or may not be liked but these 50-year-old "guys" still have energy to spare.
Before them played Jinjer, Ukrainian band where you see the singer in the foreground, I didn't mind them, I didn't go crazy about them but I was glad to see them, they also had quite a following of fans who literally adored them. Before that they played Vender, unfortunately though I missed them, the children of the singer and clown of Slipknot are part of the band, I have to say that their record listening appeals to me a lot.
Remember I just told you about losing the first group, do you know why? Well those genius organizers thought it was a good idea to create 20,000 different rows outside without putting up signs at all.
All of course peppered with quite a lot of hassle from people, we for example got in the wrong line only to be told by an organizer "squeeze into the other one, great, just Italian style. So we had to do in order not to wait for a millennium, although we would have preferred not to do that at all, I use the plural because I was together with my wife.
I tell you all this as I show you some photos from the concert, I also made videos posted on Instagram in the stories and not only on the Hard Rock Crypto page, as well as on TikTok, and yes, although we are oldies we have also arrived on the social of young people.
Of course, all the tension built up in the line was washed away when we attended the energetic and liberating concert.
Lasted about an hour and a half the headliners' performance while Jinjer's lasted about an hour, two hours and more of excellent music that yes literally destroyed my eardrums because at quite extreme volumes, but also totally freed my mind.

La pandemia ci ha tolto tante cose, tra queste il piacere di godersi e divertirsi ai concerti, una delle cose che sinceramente mi è mancata maggiormente. E così eccomi dopo anni ad un concerto come si deve, quello degli Slipknot al Castello Scaligero di Verona, location top per una band che sa tenere il palco come poche altre. Cero il genere un po' estremo può piacere o meno ma questi "ragazzi" di 50 anni hanno ancora energia da vendere.
Prima di loro hanno suonato i Jinjer, band Ucraina dove vedete la cantante in primo piano, non mi sono dispiaciuti, non ci sono andato matto ma mi ha fatto piacere vederli, avevano inoltre un discreto seguito di fans che li adoravano letteralmente. Prima ancora hanno suonato i Vender, purtroppo però me li sono persi, fanno parte della band i figli del cantante e del clown degli Slipknot, devo dire che il loro ascolto su disco mi garba parecchio.
Ricordate che vi ho appena detto di aver perso il primo gruppo, sapete il perché? Ebbene quei genialoidi degli organizzatori hanno pensato bene di creare ventimila file differenti all'esterno senza assolutamente mettere dei cartelli.
Il tutto naturalmente condito da parecchio scazzo da parte della gente, noi ad esempio abbiamo sbagliato fila per poi sentirci dire da un organizzatore "infilatevi nell'altre, fantastico, proprio all'italiana. Così ci è toccato fare per non aspettare un millennio, anche se avremmo preferito non farlo assolutamente, uso il plurale perché ero assieme a mia moglie.
Vi dico tutto ciò mentre vi faccio vedere qualche foto del concerto, ho fatto anche dei video pubblicati su Instagram nelle storie e non solo sulla pagina Hard Rock Crypto, nonché su TikTok, ebbene sì, sebbene siamo vecchiotti siamo arrivati anche sul social dei giovani.
Naturalmente tutta la tensione accumulata nella fila è stata spazzata via quando abbiamo assistito al concerto, energico e liberatorio.
Durato circa un'ora e mezza l'esibizione degli headliner mentre quella dei Jinjer circa un'ora, due ore e più di ottima musica che sì mi ha distrutto letteralmente i timpani perché a volumi abbastanza estremi, ma mi ha anche liberato totalmente la mente.
