Hello everyone!
In the last few days, I have been inexplicably and unexpectedly taken by a movie I saw a few years ago, which I liked, and which has now come back strongly in my thoughts.
I'm talking about The Wolf of Wall Street, the 2013 film directed by Martin Scorsese and masterfully interpreted by the great Leonardo DiCaprio.

Who among you does not know this film? I think few...
As a great and long-time admirer of the master Scorsese, I had seen it at the cinema when it came out in theaters, now 7 years ago.
I must say that at the time I liked it a lot, even if I am a nostalgic of the 80s and 90s films in which the partnership with great actors of that period, among which Robert de Niro stood out, gave life to immense masterpieces.
So I consider it inferior to films like Raging Bull (my absolute favorite), The King of Comedy, The Color of Money and Goodfellas, but in any case I think it's a very high level work.
Almost by chance, some clips of the film appeared on the home of Youtube and I started seeing some...from there I entered an infinite loop and so last night, when my children went to sleep, I opened Netflix and I saw it again.
It is an adrenaline-pumping story, at times throbbing, especially if you consider that more or less everything really happened.
As in all stories where the protagonist is a villain, we end up being on his side, empathizing even in the face of the most wrong behaviors, such as fraud, drug-related excesses and all the follies that lead the protagonists into a spiral of unbridled and unstoppable greed.
The real Jordan Belfort, the Wall Street broker who, as the head of Stratton Oakmont, made hundreds of millions of dollars from the sale of penny-stocks, appears in a cameo in the final part of the film.

If you don't know his history, I recommend you go and read it, because it is really fascinating and interesting.
To such an extent that, from the book of the same name written by Belfort himself, this film was taken, in which, thanks to the massive use of the voice over, we can hear most of the story directly from the protagonist's voice.
And finally, the soundtrack is also very beautiful...
I leave you here the two songs that I can't get out of my head for days.

Ciao a tutti!
Negli ultimi giorni sono stato inspiegabilmente ed inaspettatamente preso da un film che ho visto qualche anno fa, che mi era piaciuto, e che adesso è ritornato prepotentemente nei miei pensieri.
Sto parlando di The Wolf of Wall Street, la pellicola del 2013 diretta da Martin Scorsese e interpretata magistralmente dal grande Leonardo DiCaprio.

Chi di voi non conosce questo film? Penso pochi...
Da grande e ammiratore di lunga data del maestro Scorsese, io l'avevo visto al cinema quando è uscito nelle sale, ormai 7 anni fa.
Devo dire che all'epoca mi piacque molto, anche se sono un nostalgico dei film anni '80 e '90 nei quali il sodalizio con grandissimi attori di quel periodo, tra cui spiccava Robert de Niro, ha dato vita ad immensi capolavori.
Quindi lo ritengo inferiore a film come Toro Scatenato (il mio preferito in assoluto), Re per una Notte, Il colore dei soldi e Quei bravi ragazzi, ma in ogni caso credo che sia un opera di altissimo livello.
Quasi per caso, mi sono comparse sulla home di Youtube alcune clip del film e ho iniziato a vederne qualcuna...da lì sono entrato in un loop infinito e così ieri sera, quando i miei figli sono andati a dormire, ho aperto Netflix e l'ho rivisto.
E' una storia adrenalinica, a tratti palpitante, soprattutto se considerate che più o meno tutto è realmente accaduto.
Come in tutte le storie in cui il protagonista è un cattivo, si finisce per stare dalla sua parte, empatizzando anche di fronte ai comportamenti più sbagliati, come le frodi, gli eccessi legati alle droghe e tutte le follie che portano i protagonisti in una spirale di sfrenata ed irrefrenabile bramosia.
Il vero Jordan Belfort, il broker di Wall Street che, a capo della Stratton Oakmont, guadagnò centinaia di milioni di dollari tramite la vendita delle penny-stocks, compare in un cameo nella parte finale del film.

Se non conoscete la sua storia, vi consiglio di andare a leggerla, perché è davvero affascinante e interessante.
A tal punto che, dall'omonimo libro scritto dallo stesso Belfort, è stato tratto questo film, nel quale, grazie al massiccio utilizzo del voice over, possiamo sentire gran parte del racconto, direttamente dalla voce del protagonista.
E per finire, anche la colonna sonora è molto bella...
Vi lascio qui le due canzoni che non riesco a togliermi dalla testa da giorni.
Spero di avervi fatto venire voglia di vedere (o rivedere) il film.

Such a fine overview, yeh you're right, the movie is the epitome of all excesses, such a fun ride and even more shocking true story (they use Jordan Belfort example in all forex and young entrepreneur crypto currency meetings it's funny), I also love Scorsese, this one has a killer soundtrack reminiscent of his 90's crime films with De Niro.
