It was February 11th 2009 when somebody registered as Satoshi Nakamoto published on the blog p2pfoundation.com this post where he/she/they announced the developement of Bitcoin.
The post starts so, ex abrupto:
"I've developed a new open source P2P e-cash system called Bitcoin. It's completely decentralized, with no central server or trusted parties, because everything is based on crypto proof instead of trust. Give it a try, or take a look at the screenshots and design paper:
Download Bitcoin v0.1 at http://www.bitcoin.org"
The lucky ones who gave it "a try" became nowdays Bitcoin whales. The following part talks about Btc specs and the limits of traditional banking, the need to trust a single entity instead of a community, like blockchain does, and the traditional geographic borders, which are irrilevant in blockchain environment.
Other sources state that Satoshi started spreading his/her/their software in a private mail listing, The Cryptography Mailing List, on the site metzdowd.com, the mailing continuing unitl 2011, when Nakamoto vanished, not even answering when nomitated for Nobel Economy Prize.
The paternity of the invention is surely to attribute to the username Satoshi Nakamoto. Who actually Satoshi is/are remains a mistery. Many options have been analyzed, but the field is so wide that it deserves a dedicated article, which is upcoming.
