All said, thought and done, the lift was late because a boy who was most likely the brother of the dog's owner was getting on, and so I left...

"How cute, actually, actually pretty, and it looks very good too..."

"But isn't he many years old, one, maybe 2?", I ventured a guess...

I couldn't resist, I slowly lowered myself and approached my hand without haste, to make myself identified by the very cute little animal, with the subsequent intention of caressing it, but just a couple of seconds were enough for it to understand my intentions and accept them good luck, or at least that's what I thought...

I actually manage to caress her, she was always very cheerful and friendly in her behavior, a real pleasure, but I still can't understand how it could have happened, suddenly I found my left forearm inside her mouth, with her teeth barely noticeable barely, she always wagged her tail in a playful and joyful way, but don't worry, I wasn't anymore...

"And now?!?!", I thought..., "and now what do I do?!?! I remove my arm, with the risk that he will grit his teeth, give me a half bite, give me a wound, blood will come out and how does he smell everything gets further complicated?? Do I wait for his owners to intervene, or am I not in any danger and is it his simple way of playing??"

With all these doubts in my head and my forearm still inside its mouth, time passed very slowly, fortunately the boy began to tell his pet, who always had a friendly behavior but that strange way of playing, to stop holding my arm in her mouth, that she didn't know me, that she shouldn't take those liberties with people she didn't know, and started giving her specific orders to let go of my limb, a few more seconds were enough to bring the situation back to normal , I gave a couple of further caresses to that splendid example of pitt-bull but even with all the extenuating circumstances due to the presence of his owners, I had a few moments of panic...

Più guardavo quel cane, lo mi veniva voglia di accarezzarlo, perché la sua gioia era davvero contagiosa, stavano aspettando l'arrivo dell'ascensore, mentre io scendevo con il passaggio del mocio a terra, mi sono fatto il mio piccolo film mentale...

"Se sono ancora lì mentre arrivo sul pianerottolo, proverò ad accarezzare quel cane così simpatico..."

Detto, pensato e fatto, l'ascensore tardava perché stava salendo un ragazzo che con tutta probabilità era il fratello della padroncina del cane, e allora sono partito...

"Com'è carino, anzi, a dire il vero carina, e sembra pure molto buona..."

"Sì, in effetti è buona..."

"Ma non ha molti anni, uno, forse 2?", ho azzardato un'ipotesi io...

"Sì, un paio di anni..."

Non ho resistito, mi sono abbassato lentamente ed ho avvicinato senza fretta la mia mano, per farmi identificare dalla graziosissima bestiola, con l'intento successivo di accarezzarla, ma sono bastati giusto un paio di secondi affinché lei comprendesse le mie intenzioni e le accettasse di buon grado, o almeno questo era quello che pensavo io...

Riesco effettivamente ad accarezzarla, era sempre molto festosa e amichevole nel comportamento, un vero piacere, ma ancora non riesco a capacitarmi di come possa essere accaduto, improvvisamente mi sono ritrovato il mio avambraccio sinistro dentro la sua bocca, con i denti che si avvertivano appena appena, lei scodinzolava sempre in maniera giocosa e gioiosa, ma tranquillo tranquillo io non lo ero più...

"E adesso?!?!", pensai..., "e adesso cosa faccio?!?! Tolgo il braccio, con il rischio che stringa i denti, mi dia un mezzo morso, mi fa una ferita, viene fuori del sangue e come sente l'odore tutto si complica ulteriormente?? Aspetto che i suoi padroni intervengano, oppure non sto correndo nessun pericolo ed è il suo semplice modo di giocare??"

Con tutti questi dubbi in testa e sempre il mio avambraccio dentro alla sua bocca, il tempo scorreva lentissimo, fortunatamente il ragazzo iniziò a dire alla sua bestiola, che aveva sempre un comportamento amichevole ma quello strano modo di giocare, di smettere di tenere il mio braccio in bocca, che non mi conosceva, che non si doveva prendere quelle libertà con le persone che non conosceva, ed ha iniziato a darle precisi ordini, affinché mollasse la presa sul mio arto, pochi altri secondi sono bastati per riportare la situazione alla normalità, diedi un paio di ulteriori carezze a quello splendido esemplare di pitt-bull ma seppur con tutte le attenuanti per la presenza dei suoi padroni, qualche istante di panico l'ho passato...
