I want to end in a positive way this small series of posts dedicated to reflections on what happened in a short time in that building of which I quickly narrated the events of its elderly residents, there is another one, to tell the truth, who still enjoys excellent health (I am praying for him too), I saw him last year climbing the stairs, with a bit of difficulty but quite easily, he lives on the 3rd floor of that building, halfway up the ramps stopped for a moment (the building does not have a lift), he needed to catch his breath, he asked me, turning towards me if he knew how old he actually was...

In all honesty, not to give him free compliments, I gave him an age of 85, even though he might have had some of that in me too, but his way of doing things had pushed me to give him a few years older than I really thought, because for me he was around 80-82, with a sigh he replied that he was 94, ninety-four, no fuss!!!

I guarantee you that I didn't want to be funny, for me he was really 85 years old at most, for the way he thought, for the way I moved, for the way he handled himself, because I had even seen him ride a bicycle, because of how dynamic and active he was, this winter the two-wheeled pedal vehicle remained in his garage, but he has already promised himself that when he gets back out in the sun he will resume his light but constant pedaling, he is truly a rock, one of those people who made the mold and then they threw him away, it made me think about myself, if I ever reach his age in those conditions (he's still better than my father, who from spring to July, if everything goes smoothly, will collect 98...), if I can ever hope to be so brilliant in a general sense, the will on my part is certainly not lacking, to continue living in a decent and self-sufficient way, but right now I'm going for 59, this gentleman is for 95, they're the same numbers but I'm not the same thing, because they are reversed and there is a 36 year difference between me and him, I can however guarantee you that it would really be necessary to sign, to reach his age especially in his same conditions...

Voglio chiudere in maniera positiva questa piccola serie di post dedicata alle riflessioni, su quanto accaduto in breve tempo in quella palazzina di cui ho narrato velocemente le vicende dei suoi condomini anziani, ce n'è un altro, a dire il vero, che ancora gode di ottima salute (sto facendo gli scongiuri anche per lui), l'ho visto l'anno scorso salire le scale, con un po' di fatica ma abbastanza agevolmente, abita al 3° piano di quella palazzina, a metà delle rampe di salita si è fermato un attimo (la palazzina non è dotata di ascensore), doveva riprendere fiato, mi chiede girandosi verso me se sapeva quanti anni avesse in realtà...

In tutta onestà, non per fargli dei complimenti gratuiti, gli ho attribuito un'età di 85 anni, anche se poteva averne anche qualcuno in me, ma il suo modo di fare mi aveva spinto a dargli qualche anno di più di quello che pensassi veramente, perché per me era sugli 80-82, con un sospiro mi ha risposto che ne aveva ben 94, novantaquattro, mica storie!!!

Vi garantisco che non ho voluto fare il simpatico, per me aveva davvero al massimo 85 anni, per il modo di ragionare, per il modo di muovermi, per come si dispegnava, perché l'avevo visto pure andare in bicicletta, da quanto era dinamico e attivo, in questo inverno il veicolo a pedale a due ruote è rimasto nel suo garage, ma si è già ripromesso che come ritornato fuori di sole riprenderà le sue pedalate leggere ma costanti, è davvero una roccia, di quelle persone che hanno fatto lo stampo e poi lo hanno buttato via, mi è venuto da pensare alla mia persona, se mai arriverò alla sua età in quelle condizioni (sta ancora meglio di mio padre, che di primavere a luglio, se tutto fila liscio, ne collezionerà ben 98...), se mai potrò sperare di essere così brillante in senso generale, la volontà da parte mia non manca di certo, di continuare a vivere in maniera decente e autosufficiente, ma adesso come adesso vado per i 59, questo signore per i 95, sono gli stessi numeri ma non sono la stessa cosa, perché sono invertiti e ci sono 36 anni di differenza tra me e lui, vi posso comunque garantire che ci sarebbe davvero da mettere la firma, ad arrivare alla sua età soprattutto nelle sue stesse condizioni...
