Yes friends, for those of you who are currently in Malaysia or preparing to come, but it has given us a lot of convenience.

Bangladesh government has taken a new initiative to facilitate passport services for expatriate Bangladeshis living in Malaysia. New e-passport application acceptance and direct passport delivery services have been launched in Cameron Highlands, Pahang Province, Malaysia, which was previously only possible through post offices.

E-Passport Services in Cameron Highlands

Bangladeshis living in Cameron Highlands can now easily receive passport services by applying online. This service will be provided on August 10 and 11 from 9 am to 4 pm at designated locations in Cameron Highlands. Those who wish to avail of this service will have to make an appointment online by August 7.

Online Appointment Mandatory

Online appointment has been made mandatory for receiving passport services. Only those whose details are updated online, can attend directly and collect the passport.

Miscellaneous Consular Services

Along with the e-passport, the Bangladesh High Commission's consular team will provide various necessary services. These include passport amendment, birth registration certificate attestation, academic certificate attestation, driving license attestation, and more. Also, Nikahnama, divorce papers, and police clearance certificate attestation services are available.

Distribution of passports through post office continues

While there is a facility for direct passport collection through online appointment, passport delivery service through the post office will also continue. However, expatriate Bangladeshis have been requested not to make simultaneous appointments for the two services.

Through this new initiative, Bangladeshis living in Malaysia will be able to receive passport services easily and quickly. This will be considered as a big advantage for expats.
