Today I will talk about senile dementia, namely amnesia and also Alzheimer's. What is actually the difference between senile dementia and Alzheimer's?

So, what is Alzheimer's?
Yes, Alzheimer's is the most frequent cause of dementia. And dementia itself is a condition of loss of intellectual ability. For example, memory, thinking ability, calculation ability, orientation and so on, which can interfere with daily life. Yes, orientation disorders are indeed one of the symptoms of Alzheimer's dementia, but if we say someone has dementia usually not just once or in certain situations. But it has been repeated many times and has interfered with his daily life.

If, for example, only once, because maybe we are busy or tired, that's temporary. But if in Alzheimer's this happens continuously, repeatedly, and the longer time, the memory declines.

What are the characteristics and symptoms that are easy to recognize when you have Alzheimer's?

The first one is memory impairment. So, for example, an old person asks again, even though he only asked 5 minutes ago.

Secondly it is difficult to focus on doing simple daily work.

The third one has difficulty doing familiar activities. For example, if we go home from the office to the house, we often take the same route. This he even forgot, "oh which way?" for example like that yes.

If it's easy to forget, or memory problems, usually the patient and family say, "but you still remember, doc, the old ones, you still remember the names of your family. Usually, your memory starts from a new memory. So, he/she will have difficulty entering new information to remember. Forgetting it wasn't the first time. That was later, the very last stage of dementia. But it was like the child had said goodbye. It was actually what happened -events that are new. Apart from that there is difficulty understanding visually.

So, if you have Alzheimer's, there is a buildup of plaque in the brain. Initially, in the part of the brain that influences memory first. Over time it affects the calculation of distance, over time the distance can affect the part of the brain that controls breathing and the heart.

Thank you for reading, I hope it's useful. Until see you again, success for us all.
