Fontana del Nettuno
Simbolo della città di Nettuno, questa bellissima statua realizzata nel 1882 dall'artista Ottavio De Angelis, accoglie i visitatori in una delle piazze principali della città, piazza Mazzini, dalla quale si accede al caratteristico borghetto medioevale.
Dopo varie vicissitudini nel corso della storia, questo prestigioso monumento oggi si presenta con la statua del Nettuno, il Dio del mare armato di tridente, che troneggia su una conchiglia trainata da cavalli che emergono dall'acqua.
Un altro prezioso gioiello custodito in una dei tanti piccoli borghi italiani.

Neptune Fountain
Symbol of the city of Neptune, this beautiful statue made in 1882 by the artist Ottavio De Angelis, welcomes visitors in one of the main squares of the city, Piazza Mazzini, from which you can access the characteristic medieval village.
After various vicissitudes in the course of history, this prestigious monument today presents itself with the statue of Neptune, the God of the sea armed with a trident, towering over a shell pulled by horses emerging from the water.
Another precious jewel guarded in one of the many small Italian villages.

To have the time that this statue has, it not only looks preserved, but also has good impressive details for the time. Definitely, speaking of neptune and the sea, the small town would represent the oyster and the statue the pearl. Thanks for sharing.

Knowing some of history, i read the post and i understand you can finf gems like this one in small towns but i didn't find what is the material of the fountain? i mean the neptune statue

Nettuno il DIO greco noto anche come Poseidone sembra molto imponente sui cavalli, mi piace il tridente e vedere i cavalli sull'acqua, è un modo per dire chi governa il mondo sottomarino.
