The Best Photo of the Week Contest: una farfalla azzurra/a blue butterfly

Avete visto mai una farfalla azzurra? Ricordate quella gigantesca marrone che mi era arrivata nella veranda sul retro? Ebbene, stavolta una azzurra è venuta a farci visita, sempre nella stessa veranda sul vetro. Soltanto che invece di posarsi sui muri, si è posata sul pavimento, che per combinazione è dello stesso colore delle sue ali. Qui in cortile e nelle pertinenze della casa (a volte entrano pure) arrivano farfalle sia marroni che bianche: sono abituali. Ma quelle azzurre mi paiono una rarità. Una foto era proprio quel che ci voleva, per immortalare tanto azzurro.

Have you ever seen a blue butterfly? Do you remember the giant brown one that came to my back porch? Well, this time a blue one came to visit us, again in the same back porch. But instead of alighting on the walls, it alighted on the floor, which by coincidence is the same colour as its wings. Here in the courtyard and in the outbuildings of the house (sometimes they even come in) both brown and white butterflies arrive: they are regular guests. But the blue ones look like rarity. A photo was just what was needed, to capture so much blue.
