How to make a tablature for 5 strings bass with FINALE

Here I propose a method to make a tablature for 5-string bass guitar.
The first thing I usually do is create a midi file from the music recording software.
In this MIDI file I insert two tracks, the chord track and the bass line track.

At this point I open FINALE and set up an empty document composed of a keyboard, a staff and a tablature for 5-string bass.
I go on file>new>document with set up wizard

here select "create new ensemble

Here I choose a line of piano, double bass and a line of 5-string bass tablature

Since I don't care to have the piano in double stave, I delete the bass clef stave related to the piano

At this point I load the midi file in FINAL but in a new session.

I select and copy the measures that interest me and that I will transport in the project with the tablature

I bring back with copy-paste the measures

I select the bass line and drag it into the tablature line.

Finale asks which is the lowest fret among the notes played and then automatically calculates the tablature

I can also at this moment change the scale in which the song is played

To insert the ghost notes use the "special tool palette" tool

use the "ghost note" icon

Select the note that should become a ghost note and click on it twice

and here is the tablature with 5 strings bass that includes ghost notes as well

Come fare una tablatura per basso 5 corde con FINALE

Qui di seguito propongo un metodo per eseguire una tablatura per basso a 5 corde.
La prima cosa che solitamente faccio è crearmi un file midi dal software di registrazione musicale.
In questo file MIDI inserisco due tracce, la traccia degli accordi e la traccia della linea di basso.

A questo punto apro FINALE ed imposto un documento vuoto composto da una tastiera, un rigo ed una tablatura per basso a 5 corde.
Vado su file>new>document with set up wizard

qui selezione "create new ensemble"

Qui scelgo un rigo di piano, di contrabbasso e un rigo di tablatura a basso 5 corde

Siccome non mi interessa avere il piano in doppio rigo, cancello il rigo della chiave di basso relativo al piano

A questo punto carico il file midi in FINALE ma in una sessione nuova.

Seleziono e copio le misure che mi interessano e che trasporterò nel progetto con la tablatura

Riporto con copia-incolla le misure

Seleziono il rigo di basso e lo trascino nel rigo della tablatura.

Finale chiede quale è il tasto più basso tra le note suonate e poi calcola in automatico la tablatura

Posso anche in questo momento cambiare la scala in cui è suonato il brano

Per inserire le ghost note usare lo strumento "special tool palette"

usare l'icona della "ghost note"

Selezionare la nota che deve diventare una ghost note e cliccare sopra la nota due volte

ed ecco qua la tablatura con basso 5 corde che comprende anche le ghost note
