The common name for this plant is Polygonum Orientale Linn. In Bengal it is known as 'poison jackfruit'. Even though I don't know the amount of poison in it even though it is called Enam, what I saw from one of my neighbors when I was young. My neighbor was a fishmonger. He used to catch fish with a regular 'rod' and sell it in the market. He used to fish at night and collect earthworms during the day. One day at noon, he sprinkled some water on the dung beetle of my house. After a while, it was seen that the earthworms were coming out from under the ground like snakes. A few more people present had to say after seeing this scene, you see the power of poisonous jackfruit. I was the first to know about poison ivy that day.
