Beer Saturday
I'm like hampster on the wheel of life. Those weeks just keep trucking on, yep, it's Saturday again and we know what that means. Time for a brew and a chat. I'm back with another IPA from Rye River this week and it was a decent beer.
Rye River Big Bangin' IPA
Another Saturday, another IPA. This was a nice one too, here's what the brewery has to say about this one.
What they say
Beer Art
The can art is OK here, but this beer's second cousin which is green with the black can really works. This blue on black effort isn't as nice, but it's OK. I've seen plenty better and plenty worse.

Thoughts
It's hard to beat a cold beer, but a cold beer with a hot amd spicy curry, now you're talking!
When we lived on the East coast of Ireland, we had one of these Camille restaurants on our doorstep which was great, but here in Galway it's a 20-30 minute drive to the other side of Galway, so we don't often opt for it anymore, but we were over that end of town and decided to partake and man was it nice. I went for my usual, Thai Red Chicken Curry with sticky rice.
This punchy IPA was a perfect counter balance to the spicy red chillis. You might be thinking that the portion size is a bit scabby, but I always keep a bit for lunch the following day, as a curry always tastes even nicer on day 2 in my experience. The spices and flavours infuse themselves further in the meat.
Right back to the beer itself. This one poured a nice fresh looking straw colour and tasted very good with plenty of hops apparent and a good lasting after taste. At 7.1% you won't be drinking too many of these bad boys without feeling it, but it was just the one for me.
