Beer Saturday
It's Saturday again folks and after a few weeks of cans and pints of the black stuff, aka Guiness, this week I'm back with a new IPA review. It had actually been a good while since I had an IPA, as I had a rake of Heineken and Peroni left over from a party back in October and over Christmas I often drink Guinness or red wine morseso than beer.
Rye River Hop Drops Citra Extra Pale IPA
What they say
A crushable extra pale showcasing Citra hops alongside a simply stated clean malt character. Light, crisp and refreshing. I really enjoyed this one, very sessionable and great for the hot weather.
Beer Art
I must say now, I like can art here and I think the black can is what makes it. It makes it really stand out, way more than a regular silver can does. The art here is simple and crisp and so is the beer, so it just fits.

Thoughts
Right, so this one just hit the spot, a large part may be because haven't had an IPA in over a month and so my standards are at an all time low. Some hoppy bog water made in a dirty sock may well have gotten a 2.5 so long as it was hoppy!
I got out my trusty IPA glass, jesus, you'd think Martin's off license would be paying me at this stage for all the free advertising!
It poured a standard straw yellow hue and aromas of hops were quickly apparent. Hoppy textures dominate here, along with a hint of grapefruit, and grassy malt. It is definitely sessionable and clocking in at a nice easy going 4.5% means you can swill a good few.
