I might not be able to contribute very. My knowledge of Steemit is rather limited. But I'll try. I'm learning all the time. I already learned some very useful things reading the comments here.

1 What strategy and criteria would you use if you were a community curator?
I have no idea what strategy any of the curators use to find posts. Maybe I would limit myself to a few communities and specialize in something? Maybe writing contests. Or art. Or cooking recipes? How does curation work anyway. I know I am overjoyed when a curator finds me and upvotes. Makes my day really!!

Without focusing too much on strategy for finding posts what I would look for in a post is something of value for others. Sharing of knowledge, realization, experience.. Allowing others to perceive the world though the eyes of the poster.

2 Are you aware of your notifications? What relevant information have you found in them recently?

First thing I check is notifications. It's like a knock at the door. Someone is trying to gain to access me somehow. To connect. Can't let that go unrecognized. Opportunity is knocking... for me as well as them...
There are invitations to contests, mentions, comments on posts, recognition of votes. All really significant.

How often do you use the Resteem and Follow options? Share your reasons for using them.

To be honest with I didn't understand reteem until reading some comments here. Evidently when someone clicks on your name the first thing they get is the blog. They don't get directly right away to your posts. So it's important to resteem your posts onto the blog.
I use the follow function quote a bit. People that have upvoted me I want to follow and also upvote and comment on their posts. Also I like to find people in the follow list to invite to contests.

I'm embarrassed at my lack of knowledge on some of these things. So this is a good opportunity for me to learn something by reading some of the other comments here.

It seems strange to me that despite having been on the platform for so long, you have not had the experience of learning about these basic points.

Curation is any support action that we carry out through voting, this generates rewards for both the author of the content and the curator. When we are curators of a community in general, we must keep in mind that there is a lot of active and good quality content, but that we also have a limitation in voting power, these aspects force us to propose a strategy to carry out a fair and balanced curation round.

Options like resteem and Follow play an important role in community support.

There's no reason to be embarrassed and you are the last one who should. You learned a lot last year and so did I and to be fair most of what I know I discovered coincidentally and it made me wonder and decide to do it differently.

If I started an account today I would most likely only resteem my own posts and divide them over more accounts because I find it very hard to find back my tales, and stories and some posts simply do not fit into my account.
Lately, I think a lot about starting over again and letting the present accounts for what they are (I can resteem what I find that fits into that account same for transferring SP, it will be a hell of a job and most likely not everything can be resteemed but somehow how it looks now bothers me and this for longer. I wish it was possible to get rid of certain resteems or mute them.

If I were a curator, I would look for someone who publishes unique content. But what is unique content? For me, it would be something related to self-discovery through creativity. I admire unconventional approaches to problems. If someone has learned something new and wants to show us their newly acquired skills in a post, that’s true value to me. It doesn’t have to be perfect; what matters is the message behind it. Maybe, at first, it’s worth appreciating such a person and then observing whether they continue to grow and in which direction they are heading.
When I log into Steemit, notifications are the first thing I check. It’s important for me to respond to comments or upvote them so that the person knows I read them. I do have one concern. I once had a conversation with someone who had a reputation score of just over twenty, and I didn’t receive a notification when they replied. Luckily, I had a feeling I should check the post where we were talking, and that’s how I discovered the reply. It’s really frustrating. Why does this happen? Or maybe I just experienced an unusual glitch?
Since I’m not on Steemit every day, I often use the resteem option to remember a contest I like and want to participate in. If I know I won’t be able to write a contest post the same day, I resteem it. I also don’t use the follow option very often, probably because I don’t spend enough time here to find users whose content I enjoy.

I think it's great that you have the will to stop at creative content to support it if you are a community curator, it is important to give a boost to authors with interesting or educational content.

Checking notifications is very important, some citations are worth paying attention to. Not all notifications are displayed on the Steemit portal, especially if the user who cites has low reputation and Steem Power, so you have to resort to Steemworld.

Resteem is a very opportune option sometimes, it is good to keep in mind those publications that we want to read or that show important information.

I'm going to write a little bit about these issues. Because there are some friends involved. If I were a curator or whatever it is that has relevance on the platform. I would definitely use the strategy of helping and motivating in the first place. Commenting from the positivity and responsibility involved. Then assess the quality of the work and the artists in general. Diamonds are needed, not quartz, so to speak. The artist must also be receptive, wanting to improve. No matter where the work is, there is always room for improvement. Then there is the unusable chaff that does not want to be molded. I would also be more ironclad against plagiarism and the use of AIs.
Notifications get me into action. They keep me active. So I see them as a positive.
Followers are that flowery paradise, which points to the welcome you get in a community. They imply growth, accountability and goals. I don't think everyone sees it this way. There are bound to be naysayers. Free thinkers. Some anarchists. But it's all good. Controversy is good. It makes you do things. Unless you live in the Arctic and have no steem. And you dream of a bag of potato chips. And you want to color, but it's -80 degrees and you don't have a red sweatshirt. So would you mind writing? Have you traveled to Cuba? Would you like to visit Cuba?
Do you know what fractal geometry is? My style is fractal. I'm from another latitude. The place where I write is the center of the universe I inhabit.

I hope you can have the opportunity to be a curator with a community account, it is a very nice experience since it allows you to give value to those posts that are good and/or excellent for you.

Without a doubt, friends are always important in any environment, here we have the opportunity to relate and make friends with people from other latitudes, and despite the fact that we do not get to know each other personally, we can achieve a great connection of mutual support.

I have one question related to the games on Steemit that periodically appear.
As a rule, this is something related to fantasy worlds, but there are no serious games, such as chess and checkers.

Exploring the Internet, I found several blockchains where they are getting ready to list coins for rewarding chess games, when this will happen I don’t know, but whoever launches this first will clearly be on top, considering that even before the listing there are more than a hundred thousand users... I don’t know how many of them are bots, but that’s a lot.

Since I’m not a programmer, it’s hard for me to talk about the difficulties of creating something like this with a link to Steemit, but this is definitely something that will attract many people, and the game program itself, in theory, should not be complicated since special graphics are not needed there and there are already many ready-made examples of online chess games, well, and checkers.

Is this possibility being considered and if so, what is the obstacle to it?

I think it would be right to continue my thought, relying on some facts and details.

There is a large category of people who consider online games in which you need to collect apples, chests, or fight zombies to be a moveton and a waste of time and a bad example for their children. Sometimes you want your child not to hang out in games, but to do something useful.

Chess and checkers is not just a game, it is a sport, the development of intelligence and tactical thinking, even old people in parks play these games and many of them are enthusiastic about playing online chess.

I recommend paying attention to the principle of operation of online chess on app.chessnode.io where rewards are paid for winning, and the amount of the reward depends on the amount of stacking coins of the one who wins the chess game.

A limit of victories per day is set, there are 10 of them, no more.

There are no rewards for a draw and it is not a fact that the one with more staking wins.

As they write, the victory mines the STEIN coin, but this coin has no listing yet.

New players, as well as new Steemit users, are given a small bonus in the form of coins in staking.

Further... winning ten times a day in ten-minute games is not very easy, especially when I have a rating of 1200, and the opponent 1500 - 1800, and the opponent in the future may be AI, but for now I only play with physical people.

I once shared with @wakeupkitty the viable option developers have with this type of game. I can assume that chess and other board games could be easy to handle because they are graphically simple, unless the dynamics and rules are somewhat complex.

We can ask @the-gorilla, how difficult would it be to develop a chess or checkers game that monetizes or not on Steem?

This is already a topic for a specialist in the field of game development and economists who can make all the calculations of the profitability of such an undertaking, I have a narrow specialization lol, sometimes I can see something interesting that for some reason does not happen around us.

I can only assume that having listings of different coins, Stemm, Tron, Puss, it is much easier to create and launch a game with the same rules for all cases and for everyone, with the exception of the distribution of rewards, than for those who have a game, but no listing :)

Also, if this happens, then posts with analysis of chess games will become very popular, it will definitely be fun :)

I do not want this, if it will not be profitable for Steemit ... but on this account, I have a positive attitude :)

There is no doubt that games attract a lot of user attention, especially when they generate monetization. I think that Steem retrogame is the beginning of good things to come for the Steemit ecosystem, for sure, the administrators of this game will come up with more options.

On the other hand, we have @puss.coin, a project that can bring a lot of fun to the scene, we just have to wait to see what happens, in the meantime we can share ideas to try to support the developers.

Setelah di tegur saya pun jadi tidak enak hati dan langsung meminta maaf dan sampai sekarang saya lebih hati-hati lagi membaca aturan yang ada di setiap postingan, kalau saya melihat syarat harus menggunakan bahasa inggris walaupun saya ingin ikut akhirnya saya mundur dan mencari kontes lain yang bisa menggunakan bahasa apapun.

Saya sangat suka berada di kontes komentar karena itu sangatlah menarik dan saya selalu menunggu di beberapa komunitas yang mengadakan kontes komentar dan saya selalu berusaha untuk ikut selama saya bisa mengirim setiap aturannya.

Terkadang terjemahan di aplikasi handphone saya sangat aneh, dan saya akan menyalin dan membawa ke google untuk saya terjemahkan supaya bisa berkomunikasi dengan teman-teman yang ada di platform steemit ini.

Dan setiap orang BOLEH melakukan kesalahan, yang tidak boleh adalah mengulang-ulang kesalahan yang sama, sebab masih banyak kesalahan lain yang bisa dilakukan, betul apa benar? Q: How often do you use the Reesteem and Follow options? Share your reasons for using them.

I reesteem whenever I feel the need. Due to lack of time, I reesteem most of the contests so that in my busy schedule I don't forget to participate. Every time I open steemit, I must check my blogs.
Because of the reesteeming, I get a lot of convenience.
And further in future I think I will reesteem any post I like so that whenever I open my blogs I can re-read and share my thoughts through more comments.

Yes, the resteem (reblog) option can be very useful to keep the posts we are interested in visible, although as we use it, other older posts will be left in the background, so it will be necessary to scroll down to see them later.

What strategy and criteria would you use if you were a community curator?

If I were a community curator I would curate those with good and elegant posts. I would host the informative contests about my field physiotherapy as it is the most demanding field. I would share my knowledge, leave questions for the Steemians and then reward them so that they would be aware of the basic knowledge. Mostly people are unaware of the daily life things just as if we had a little fall on ground some do the hot pack treatment at home without considering the swelling factor ( in which icing RICE protocol is applied to get relief of pain and swelling). Some treat themselves at home without understanding properly . So I would host such contests in which I can contribute my thoughts and knowledge

Moreover This is correct that being a curator require time to engage others but we are not talking present time. Am I a curator in the presence? This is fact that being a moderator curator you have responsibilities you have to invest the time and not everyone have enough time to invest because many are restricted to some problems and that's why not everyone is curator. If I have no enough time I will clearly say I wouldn't accept being curator until I have enough time. Just take an example when we say that if we will be Doctors we will help the needy it doesn't means we are doctors. In this I am talking about the assumption that If I were a curator I will do that....... But in the present time I have no enough time. I barely write posts because as I am doing a difficult course.

Moreover I will try to engage more.

How often do you use the Reesteem and Follow options? Share your reasons for using them.

Most of my resteem I’ve done on my posts is as a result of contest that I’ve participated and it was one of the criteria.

But on my own, I hardly resteem considering the fact that I don’t have so much visibility or influence that may likely attract upvotes to the post. The ones I resteem on my own is because I want to revisit the post again and i actually want to learn something from it.

For the follow option, I use it when I find your post interesting of funny. Sometimes, comments of someone can attract me to follow you.

I also use the follow option when I’ve a lot to learn from them and I see them as my source of motivation to keep posting without getting weary.

The resteem of contests I find a pain too and I wish that today I could mute many because they don't fit to my profile, who I am and honestly I find my blog ugly. PerhapsI should start a new account 🤔

Speaking about this, there is a tool @michelangelo3 talked about recently and I believe it will help a lot regarding this issue when it comes to people will follow. It’s something I intend to use rather than writing people’s usernames in my notepad.

If I was a curator.. Ummm.. That's something that I haven't thought about before. But, I think I would try to give support to good content as well as good comments. I also believe that this something generic or something that the majority will say. So, let me know if you have something in mind that is not there..

With regards to Reesteem and Follow options. Both, are different options. There is no answer that combines both. So, when it comes to Reesteem option, I have recently changed the use of it to sharing my best content. So, when someone clicks on my profile. He can directly find the posts that I wrote and I think they were written well. About the latter, I use it when I feel like I have made a connection with someone or, I liked someone's post or comment. It depends. It is more random over there.

Are you going for those with the high income? And if you will you do the same if you are SC? Do you have a niche and will you actively search for someone with the same hobbies, skills, fun, the likeminded or make a difference because the SC account isn't yours?

Oh, ok. I thought curator is referenced to those who have a lot of vote weight. Anyway, to answer the first question. The answer could be you. But, I know we are not going that specific. LOL. So, first I'd see if that person was able to put a good vibe around. Second, I would go for talent. If I sense that the person who is writing is talented. The income of the post is not something that I look at really. I don't know what is SC. I see it being said here and there. I am not looking for a likeminded person around here. But, those who come across genuine stand out.

But if I were to imagine becoming a community curator, I would love to choose writings related to technology because it is related to my field of work, so what else? I also like to read stories that are full of meaning, more like short stories. Working in a team is certainly better, especially when the team members consist of various countries. Of course, it becomes a hassle to curate posts from different languages, which have to be translated first, like what I had to do to moderate Spanish posts. What if there was a country-specific curation team? Would that be against the rules?

I don't like to guess, let me analyze it. Your comment to me after this comment came in about 4 minutes apart, with a total of 7 lines. If you deduct the time you spent opening and reading my and other people's comments and making replies, I assume 2.5 minutes.

So it took you 4-2.5 = 1.5 minutes to write those 7 lines.

Your average time to write per 1 line comment, 1.5/7 = 0.21 minutes = 10 seconds

An SC team should be from different continents which means different languages plus you have to yell how many languages you speak.

I said my average comment. There are comments which take me 3 hours to write! If I curate I have all links but with a personal comment + uoloading the picture it takes me 30 minutes!

Your calculation is wrong. By now I comment since 7 am non stop and it is 12:46! I did nothing else. Check how many comments I was able to write. For sure you are faster since all your comments seem to have the same amount of lines 🤔

LOL that is indeed also team stress (or at school, at work if you can do the work and the rest leans back) but in this case I mean stress due to the teammates SCs work with. I am sure your read our reports where it was mentioned.
Working in a team only works out if you share the same ideas and all members do their share. If not it's stress.

_I experienced it more that once as moderator, during we-write and SC and I am not the only one. Can it be avoided? Of course, if you don't care what the others do and just do your day and let everything collapse if the others are without internet, don't know what to do, are absent without a reason or ignore the goal set as a team. It's the easiest way to moderate... go to one community: upvote, paste the code of the picture and on to the next one.

You are doing great for 1 year here, better than I did (I believe I left after that year).

During my early days on steemit, I didn't get to like the resteem option because it often makes one's blog appear as just a promotional page and I use to believe that it reduces the visibility of the initial blogger. Thanks to @wakeupkitty, she recently enlighten me that I ought and should always resteem even my own posts, so that way I still get to bring more traffic and visibility to my own posts too.

For the follow option, if I am being sincere, I don't really use the steemit explore page anymore so I hardly get to see new people or people that I haven't known on the platform for long but I am planning to change the narrative soon.

What strategy and criteria would you use if you were a community curator?

Personally, as a community curator, I would look of for bloggers/Steemians that have Firstly, proven to have one or more specified niches and who has been consistent for at least two months, I wouldn't just curate their content for the first time but I would lecture them on what I think they could do better to contribute and to improve themselves and the steem community.

As a SC it is your task to educate? If you work in a team how will you make them vote like you since the team applies for xxx

Like you, I rarely use the promotion page; it's not the first I see. The same is true for those I follow; it is rarely or not visible if you are a phone user.

How about commitment to the platform? Growth, power-up, power-down? If all take and power down who will be left to upvote others?

Some say newcomers leave because of lack of support, support as in upvotes. My experience is that newcomers also leave after being rewarded and showing around more than once. Most never leave a reply or comment and the biggest part is introduced by high(er) ranked Steemians which could: delegate SP, show around, upvote (with friends) could make a difference. The fact is those friends/mentors don't with the exception of 1% because of being family/friends.

So I am here with you (out of experiences, my own included) the ones with good intentions will invest time to work with Steemit and engage with others although I don't believe two months is enough if you have a job.

Three posts and 12 comments per week to different people is possible especially if you share what drives you and brightens your life (mood).

That course is what you join now. Didn't you notice that and the only way to figure out how to be yourself is by discovering what your niche is and by just doin? it. If everything should be spelled out all entries will look exactly the same. How to tell someone what can be changed, and improved if everyone is a copy-cat and uses the the same template?

Let's see what the first entries will be and if there's variety. The freewriters are a good place because you can write what you like, 10 minutes is enough and the use of the daily prompt is to trigger the brain. Next to that Lesson 1 says: show which can be everything. Drawings, photos, videos and so on.

P.s. I am afraid it will be hard to many to change after being told for so long that they should colour between the lines and being yourself is not okay.

Being a committed SC isn't easy. There are too many accounts and there isn't enough SP to reward everyone. So important is to ask yourself who deserves an upvote. Is it the one wgo is known with the boring copy-paste contest or is it the newcomer or do I search for unknown names?

The more rules you set the harder it is. Within 30 minutes I can upvote 30-40 people if not picky and just clicking the posts I see. Is this what I want? No.

Every week the rules I set for me change slightly.
I go for creative and those who are forgotten which are always the same countries, the same continent and the same people.
Next to that I try to vote both genders equaly, comments above posts and so on. At times votes are to stimulate the author but mostly support is given to those who invest in Steemit (investing as in powerup or commenting/engaging), valuable remarks/ideas or simply spreading joy and having fun with others.

With the few weeks have been on steemit and my observation, i will suggest a distinctive idea like this where or a post people could relate with to share their experiences and mutually support each other. I guess people tend to upvote when they are emotionally engaged or connected to a particular post which is what have been observed.
So my suggestion would be something people are new to or something educational, people tend to engage fast with that.
Regarding my notification, am even more curious to always check to know who’s engaging with my content. And the minute I open them, I do try to reply immediately so I won’t find my self engaging with other things to forget.

3.I guess I only use that once in a while (don’t know how good it can be)and for the follow, truth be known, always skip my mind, most especially when I enjoy the content, but should take that to consideration.

Like you i start with the notifications but it takes a lot of time meaning there's no time for me to write unless I write first and comment later.

I went through some of the comments and noticed that most of the questions have been beautifully answered. It is truly heartwarming to see how people are connecting and helping each other. I had also like to share my thoughts on three questions, hoping you all will understand and appreciate my perspective.

What strategy and criteria would you use if you were a community curator?

According to me, If I were a community curator, my strategy would focus on fostering a positive, engaging and inclusive environment. I would encourage active participation and motivate people to share their thoughts, ideas and creativity. Providing constructive feedback to community members would be a priority, helping them to improve and grow.
Regular interaction through comments would be essential to maintain engagement and strengthen connections within the community. I also believe hashtags play a vital role in increasing the reach of any post, so I would suggest using proper and relevant hashtags to maximize visibility.
on the other hand, you first photo should be attractive and the title should be catchy as well. This can be a significant advantage in reaching your post to the Community Curators. A captivating image grabs the attention instantly, while a well-crafted title sparks curiosity, encouraging more people to engage with your content.

I an not new to this community, but I still have limited knowledge about it. However, I always strive to try new things and bring creativity to whatever I do. I believe that the continuous learning and experimenting with fresh ideas help me grow and contribute better to the community.

Are you aware of your notifications? What relevant information have you found in them recently?

Yes, I am aware of the notifications and regularly check them. I feel truly motivated when people appreciate my content, and I make sure to reply to them. Recently, I have found some valuable information through the notifications, including feedback on my posts and responses to my comments. These interactions inspire me to create high-quality content.
I sincerely appreciate all the community members who not only share their work but also take the time to encourage others by commenting and providing constructive feedback. It is this supportive environment that helps everyone grow and stay inspired.

How often do you use the Reesteem and Follow options? Share your reasons for using them.

I mostly use the Resteem option when I participate in the contests. By doing so, I aim to help more people to see the resteemed post and encourage them to participate, which ultimately contributes to the growth of the community
When it comes to the Follow option, I follow those who upvote my posts and provide valuable comments, as well as those who create high -quality content. Their posts not only help me to improve my writing but also inspire me with new ideas to create more creative content.
