Hello there! Here's a painting I did of a lady using two complementary colors, pink & lime-green. I aim to understand the relationship with complementary colors better. I find it fascinating how beautiful red hues can be when used for dark tones.
First, I made a sketch of the muse, then went on ahead to clean off the excess lines.
I painted the pink in first. I used the reeves gouache set on a 110gsm Sinoart sketchbook paper and gaestercker brushes. I used a big bellied brush, it makes it easier to cover large areas. Next I used a mixture of yellow and cerulean-blue that I'd mixed a while ago. This gave me a lime-green color.
Last thing I did was to infuse a bit of each color into their complements. It tied the whole piece together!
Thank you for viewing!
