Have you anyone seen the movie named The secret life of Walter Mitty. To be honest I have mixed perspective to the making and technical side of the movie, but when I look into the story line and the message putting forward by it to the audience is so good. I believe the movie is communicating the idea of exploration mentality of human kind.

There is a part in every human who wants to explore the world. It's a part of human nature. Our ancestors where actually hunters and gatherers. They where actually having journey exploring the world in need of something extra. So I believe exploration will contribute to advancement and eternal achivement.

The Destination
Watercolor painting
Subject : Landscape
Paper used : 300gsm, A5
Time spent : 4 hours
Dry on wet method

If we look into the making of this painting, actually this one is inspired from a real photograph. But unfortunately I don't have this source of it right now.

I used some clean water to wash the entire paper canvas which has already attached to a plain drawing board with some masking tapes. The thing I did before washing was creating a rough sketch on the sheet with a pencil. Before letting it to be completely dry I used some primary, very basic and less contrast colours to get an idea of area partitioning.

I let the paper to be completely dry after the first step. It took about 10 minutes of waiting, which I used to mix the colours on the pallet.
This time I wanted to apply the colouring in a top to bottom order in just one wash. So I should have to finish the entire process from top to bottom. So I started with the sky, for which I again washed the region and applied light blue colour with a round brush and tried to make some cloud like textures.

Then I moved to the mountain region in which I have to be cery careful so that I coul create a long unclear, view of the mountain horizon with some varying colours of blue to greenish blue.

Now I reached below the horizon level in my painting. This time I took some diversion in my plan of going in a top to bottom order. First I finished the river part the started to paint the character in the scene.

Again I invested some more time on painting the boat and sailor so that I could have a finish like I wanted.

Time to power up
