At the top of the river world - Pencil drawing, New Competition (No.72)

At the top of the river world.

Each river forms its own special unique world around itself and each river starts somewhere.

As a rule the sources of rivers are high in the mountains.

Some rivers initially resemble tiny streams and some fall from the top of the mountains as a waterfall.

I decided to depict a view of the river world from the place where the waterfall flows over the edge of the mountain top.

Probably the noise of water is not heard there, complete silence and the roar of the waterfall is hidden somewhere at the foot of the mountain where the mountain river turns into a snake winding through the steppe.

From this place a view opens onto the world of the river in its valley an imaginary world of an imaginary river.

I worked on the drawing using graphite pencils on paper from my sketchbook.

I had no idea what this landscape would look like from the start so I was kind of going with the flow.

Here you see the edge of the waterfall and the river that is already meandering somewhere below.

Everything that happens in the picture is my imagination, as is how the flow of water will look.

There must be some life up there, and that is why trees and other vegetation appeared there.

It is quite logical that fertile lands and cultivated fields will appear in the river valley as well as lakes where I would be happy to fish lol.

My children future hydraulic engineers said that I depicted a whole hydraulic engineering complex lol.

As a result of the work this landscape turned out.
