That darned cat!

Durkheim the cat is at it again. He would much rather be outside, but it is much too cold out there for him. Just the other night it was -50 C windchill! Unable to roam the countryside, my half feral kitty goes out of his way to make a nuisance of himself.

Here is Durkheim posing next to a houseplant. He knows that he isn't supposed to dig in the soil, but he does it anyway.

"but Mom?! how is this soil different from the stuff that is outside?" asks Durkheim.

Durkheim can't seem to figure out the difference between outside grasses and inside grasses either. They all taste the same to him

"Mom?! What? I just don't understand your draconian and senseless rules," exclaims Durkheim.

For some reason, Durkheim likes to walk on the dining room table. Usually this is after he has dug in a plant and chewed on some dried grasses, ensuring he will leave dusty cat prints everywhere. If he is feeling truly energetic, he will pee on my grandmothers handmade doily.

After a hard day messing up the house, Durkheim likes to have a restful afternoon nap. Do you think he will sleep in any of the nice cat beds he owns? No. He chooses to crawl straight into my bed.

I don't have a cat near me but I miss this feeling much.

I can#s really imagine to have such cold weather -50C it is no wonder that your can likes and enjoys warmth of home :)

It gets so cold here that I won't even go outside in the worst parts of the Winter. The dogs still go outside to do their business though.

Nice to meet Durkheim :) I totally agree with him, what is the difference between the soil inside the pot and the soil outside :D I love the bewildered eyes that try to understand us humans :)) It's understandable that he thinks he can declare his own territory because there's no one on the table :) His sleep is so peaceful that choosing your bed is a reason for happiness :) I hope you have some help with cleaning :)

I WISH that I had help with the cleaning! My house has never been so messy since I brought Durkheim home. He moves things around.

I can understand you, I have a budgie and he likes to throw anything he can on the ground :D Their existence is worth the mess :)
